    Hi Team Titleist,

I read in this forum Titleist install the 37" shaft for both 9-iron and Pitching Wedge, which means for 8-iron Titleist will be installing 37.5" shaft. My question is if I order through Titleist custom option for a soft step once setup, will Titleist install the 37.5" shaft for both 9-iron and Pitching Wedge OR install the 37.5" shaft for 9-iron and the 37" shaft for Pitching Wedge?

    Thank you,

    Kalambay.

  2. Hi Kalambay,

We would use 37.5" length shafts for both the 9 iron and PW.

Chris, thank you for the answer.

Do Titleist change the clubhead due to keep the swingweight for a soft step setup? Heavier or Lighter?

And if I order a longer shaft length (+1"), do Titleist change the clubhead as well? Heavier or Lighter?

    Thank you.

    Kalambay.

  4. We would change the head weight only because of the added length--not the soft step request. With AP1 and AP2 heads, there is a light head option, and they are automatically used on a build request of +.75" or greater. This does not apply to CB, MB, or T-MB because light heads are not available.

    Chris,

Thank you for the answer. I can make the order for 716 MB now.

    Chris,

I also want to order 716 T-MB 2-iron, do Titleist install the 41" shaft if its soft step?

Since TT DG AMT Tour Issue available as shaft option, do you think its possible to order 716 T-MB 2-iron and 3-P 716 MB with soft step once setup?

    Thank you,

    Kalambay.

  7. Hi Kalambay,

You are correct. We would install a 41" raw shaft into the 2 iron T-MB with a soft step request. Having a complete set of irons soft stepped once would not be any issue.

    Chris,

I also would like to order 716 AP2 along with Vokey SM6 as a gift for my dad in 2016. The current he's gaming the NS Pro 850GH shaft and GP Tour 25 grip weight 25 grams. For the shaft I see its available through Titleist custom while for the grip it's not, but I notice a similar specs on GP Titleist Tour Velvet 360 LT that weight 27.5 grams.

After discussing this with my fitter, he said it would be better if  I install also it with lighter clubhead as well because its already a lighter weight shaft and grip. So would Titleist install a lighter clubhead if I order with NS Pro 850GH shaft and GP Titleist Tour Velvet 360 LT grip with standard length shaft? If not, I probably order them with +1" shaft length then butt trim later.

    Thank you,

    Kalambay.

  9. Hi Kalambay,

You would have the option to order these irons with light heads at standard length, but I would caution you that the total weight of each club would be very light.
