  1. I'm a long-time Titleist user... 55 years on balls, 25 years on clubs. Now considering a new 915D2 driver and need help with the shaft. I'm a 72-year-old 3 handicap who's lost a ton of club head speed in the last 5 years... now about 87-90 with the driver. Looking for an ultralite shaft (50-55 g.). Any suggestions on what to order? Thanks.

My suggestion is to go see a certified fitter for determining the correct shaft. Although most golfers can get more speed with a lighter shaft, lighter shafts don't always mean that you going to get more distance. I was fit at the Titleist Manchester Lane facility. Like you, I don't have a high swing speed but ultra lightweight shaft don't work for me. I have found that heavier shafts improve my tempo significantly which leads to more consistency and hitting the center of the clubface resulting in better distance and accuracy. You are definitely going with an awesome driver but take the time to make it the perfect driver with a good fitting. Best of luck.

Nothing more to say than what Jonathan said here. Take that advice!

I echo the sentiments of Jonathan K. Go to a Titleist fitting center, preferably one with an outdoor range so you can see the ball flight and distance. I don't trust launch monitors at indoor ranges, they can be manipulated by changing the settings. Outdoor ranges prevent that.
  5. If you really would like the ultimate experience go and visit the Titleist Tour Fitting Facility in MASS or CA....just a thought! I have done this a couple of times and it is worth the cost and effort!!

strongly suggest to meet a Fitting center. The guys can give you the best matching shaft to your swing and get the most out of it!
