I have a 915 D2 with a blue diamana 60g in S+ Flex and hit it well. I also have a 915 f 3 wood with a diamana blue 70g in S+ Flex and can do nothing but hook it. I rarely take it out of the bag now which is disappointing on distances where i need it. My natural shot i a draw but on days when i hit everything ok i still hook/snap hook the 3 wood. Should i try a different shaft? My swing speed is around 93 to 95mph.

Are you sure you have stiff shafts? I ask because the Diamana blue board model that is standard with the 915s is the Diamana S+ Blue. If your shafts are actually stiff, then I would think swing issue more than shaft issue, since you don't talk about hooking your driver. Might be worthwhile to get a tune-up lesson to see if it is your swing.

Hi Barry, i have always played with stiff shafts due to my swing speed and yes i have suffered from a hook in the past but on days when i am not hooking anything i still hook the 3 wood.

I've always heard that hitting draws with FWs was easier than with a driver. I'm not sure if the 915 FWs have a draw bias, but I guess you could try adjusting in max fade with the SureFit hosel and see what impact, if any, that has?

Thanks Barry, yeah i've got it set on max fade but no difference. I try and play for a cut everytime i hit it but either pull it or hook it. I've got a fitting/lesson booked with my pro tomorrow.

I think that is the best option right now. Sometimes just a simple adjustment a pro makes to your set-up or swing has amazing results. Best of luck with getting your 3 wood straightened out. Let us know what the outcome is from the fitting/lesson session.

I would try and get some video and Trackman numbers if possible. I have a 915 F 16.5° (A1) Diamana S+ Blue 70 Stiff and the only time I hook it is when my hands are too quick. It could be swing and not shaft. It could be shaft not swing.

In all honesty, could be several factors. It does take a different approach to hit the 3-wood. I'd ask you how you hit a 3-iron? Then make sure your settings are correct. More than likely it's in the swing through impact.........

Barry, had my lesson this morning. My pro was pretty quick to discover it was just an old habit that had crept back into my swing. That is my Jim Furyk swing (he pulls it off, i don't). Everything is really good on the backswing but i drop the downswing too far inside on the follow through. By the end of the lesson i was nailing them straight, some even with a small fade. Just need to see if i can do it out on the course!

    Brett,
That is great news. I'm always shocked at what tiny adjustments a teacher/pro can make to our swings that have amazing results. A half and hour or so with a teacher/pro once a quarter is money well spent!
