What's your Masters tradition?

Chuck R

That cold chicken breast sandwich is to die for.

My wife is a golfer also. Our Masters tradition is we always watch Caddyshack first thing on Masters Sunday. It's our official kickoff to the golfing season up here in the Midwest.

Living on the west coast I have time to play 18 after the coverage is over every day! Those are great days!

Mmmmmm Hello Friends!

I love Love LOVE the Masters.  Generally I like to start by developing a cold on Monday.  This ensures that by Wednesday afternoon I'm 'working from home' for the Par 3 contest, but now with the invention of the iPad I can prop it up and watch the best par 3 tourney in the world from the office.  I catch prime time coverage on Thursday and Friday and I also ensure my "honey do list is complete".  I also get all my green cloths cleaned and my Scotty Master's covers ready.  It's a big weekend.

On Saturday I get in an early morning round and watch the action from the 19th.  On Sunday I try to play again in the am and then settle in for a marathon of golf watching from the Mecca.  It's the start of the season everyone!

When I am lucky enough to attend, which happens every so often, then I make sure to have the Official Masters' Breakfast:

Egg Salad Sandwich & Whole Grain Beer!

Come to think of it, this can happen at home during the Masters' as well...hmmmm

Like almost everyone else, we book early tee times for the weekend and settle in to watch the coverage.  Sometimes we are behind players who think they are playing in the Masters and we gently remind them..."the covergage is the best on the last three holes...so speed it up already"

Sunday....... Leave me the heck alone.....

The tradition in my house is an early supper with the family, then steer clear of me while I stayed glued to the end of the tournament.

On Thursday and Friday I have a dedicated computer at work that will air the Masters online..  I'm pretty good at multi-tasking :)  Thankfully  my boss is also a golfer so he understands how important this week is.  On Friday I'll wear my Masters golf shirt to work.

For the weekend, no tradition... YET..  It all depends on the wife.. If she's working, then I'm in heaven!  If she's not working, then DVR is my BFF....

To me watching the Masters is the start of golf season...

 .

Mike, I agree...such a tradition and for us here in the midwest the green is starting to return and the masters signals the official start of spring and golf again! Yeah!!

That being said, the sunday telecast is such a thrill to watch along with the wednesday par 3 contest...both are truly magical to watch and enjoy!

This is the best weekend of the year for my golf watching and my wife knows that.  But having a 2 year old and a 7 month old is complicating things a little this weekend, so we'll see how it goes.  Lucky for me, my 2 year old likes to watch golf.

Play golf on Saturday morning and watch the tournament the rest of the day.  Get up Sunday morning have my one cup of coffee for the week, read the paper, watch the golf channel then watch the masters the rest of the day.  Wear something green on Saturday to the course is the tradition.  Do not go to Augusta any more, prefer to watch on the tube.  Can see so much more golf,   51" of instant replay....... :-)

I try and play golf early then go home and sit down to watch The Masters. It has always been a tradition to watch it with one of my sons but this year I'll have to watch it by myself and cheer the leader, Bubba I hope, on to victory. Gary

Forgot to add, I live in South Carolina and the Masters is a southern tradition......just can't get enough of it.....Augusta is in both states divided by the Savanah River.......sorry its N Augusta, SC....

What a finish!  There were so many of the guys in the mix until one by one, they seemed to fall back and Bubba really took control.  Congratulations to Bubba!

We may have a new Masters tradition in our weekly golf group.  Meet on the first tee, pass out the waxed paper pimento cheese sandies and egg salad, go play and finish in time to go inside and watch the leaders tee off!
