I'm heading to a US Open practice round next week. Any tips or tricks for the best possible fan experience?

I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes, you will be doing a lot of walking and standing. Also grab a course map when you enter, this will help you to figure out the best way to get from hole to hole.

I usually try to find a vantage point where I can see multiple holes.

Enjoy your time at the US Open.

Keep checking the weather forecast. The probable temperature will be between 50-95 and the only 2 events that are unlikely are snow and hurricanes. I've been a marshal at 3 events in WI, and those days have been 95+ or 65 and rain. Good news for you - I'm not a marshal at this Open.
  4. From my experience at spending multiple days at the PGA at Whistling Straits in 2015 and the Ryder Cup this past fall, the practice rounds are my favorite because you can see things better as far as how these pros think. My advice would be to simply watch and learn. I played Erin Hills this past fall as well, and based on that experience the course is well suited to see many holes at a time. Pick a spot and relax and most importantly have fun!

I would advise finding some shade but with the lack of trees at this course that may be difficult! I always find the range a fun place to hang out. Stay hydrated, have fun, and please let us know how your day went.
