Did 3 days of marshal duty at this event this past weekend. Enjoyed seeing many of the former PGA competitors playing on the seniors tour. Was on the 9th green for Sunday so I was often within a few feet of them as the pin was about 12 from the back of the green. 2 of the longest players were paired on Sunday - Steve Stricker and Fred Couples. Even though there were few going for the green in two besides them, the amazing part was if someone wasn't on the green in regulation, it was because they were within 20 feet of the pin but 4-5 feet into the rough. Wonderful control of their approach shots even though most were only 260-270 off the tee. Steve was also the host and did yeoman's work fronting the event with Nikki as well as playing to a third place. He really is an asset to the community.
They have interesting bags of equipment. Few had all one OEM in the bag. There was even a Bull's Eye putter and a Mac Gregor cast aluminum with a milled brass face putter. I only know the latter as I bought one used for about $15 about 10 years ago as my first mallet when I was just getting into golf.
