Have only been looking to get serious about golf for about 2 years. I've bought some clubs off the net and some from local retailers and finally an Advanced Fitter. I was a little apprehensive about looking at Titleist, wondering if there was a Toyota alternative to the Lexus of clubs. They aren't cheap, but with some research, apparently anything custom ordered will be close in price. I've found newsletters from other vendors, but not the interactive space we have here. Nor have I seen a forum to ask questions directly to folks like the Concierge team. There has been much assistance on club/shaft/grip options that I have either learned through trial and error - or would still spend years more finding out.
We may not always agree (I will still miss the old NXT...) but the folks here have worked hard to help me see the value in my equipment purchases. Hope Titleist won't find it necessary to consider closing this in any future cost-cutting measures.
Don. Thank you so much for your kind words about Titleist and this community. Rest assured we will NOT be closing these discussion groups down. Team Titleist is here to stay and we love to hear from all of you Titleist loyalists out there.
Best wishes for a great golf season for you and your new custom fit Titleist clubs!
When I chose clubs last year, I had the chance to deal with a young man that was a Titleist Rep. After going thru the paces and trouble with my other brand of clubs I had pretty much decided that the cost was relative to what I was buying. I also attended several other demo days and after going thru the paces with those others made the final choice and bought a set of AP2s with the exact fittings that the rep had found for my swing and style of golf. Happy about the purchase and my experience with Titleist, YOU BETCHA. And when it comes to switching other clubs, driver and hybrids, the is only goinbg to be one brand in this man's bag and that is set in stone.
The people in Titleist have been outstanding and extremely helpful and they have my loyalty for a long, long time.
Titleist has been nothing but a friend to me. After my first set I never went back. FJ, Vokey, and Scotty, have all earned the respect they deserve.
