  1. Hey everyone.

Just curious how you measure for the correct grip size. I have seen many ways to determine the proper grip size.

One way says to measure from your longest finger to the wrist, another way says to hold a club and if the your fingers barely touch the area underneath your thumb, its good and other people say "its all about feel"

Just curious how you guys determine what size grip you put on your clubs

    thanks

I think that unless you have very unique hands, using a standard grip is going to be fine. Here is a link to Golf Pride's website where they have a grip selector tool:

    http://www.golfpride.com/fit/

They use either your golf glove size or a combination of two lengths(wrist to finger tip, and finger length) to highlight wich grip size would likely be best for you. But if you really, really want to know what size grip visit a clubfitter or pga professional.

  3. thanks Austin

    appreciate the feedback

its funny because this tool you presented tells me I should be midsize....the guy at the PGA superstore told me standard with 1 extra wrap of tape.....I went with his recommendation, but I wonder if midsize would be better

Part of it actually is being fit.  The other part is comfort or what you want to do with a club.

I have oversize grips on the driver and fairways, midsize on the hybrids and irons and standard size on the wedges.   I used to tend to hook it with the driver and fairways.  The hybrids and irons are more of a comfort thing.  I leave the wedges at standard because sometimes I need more hand action.
