Hey everyone, name is Lucas and I just signed up to the discussion forum. I’m newer to golf and have only been playing about a year or so. I started off with this cheapest clubs I could find but now in 2013 I’ve played around 20 times so I’m thinking of upgrading my clubs. I went to test out some drivers and just loved the D2 from Titleist. The sound, feel, look of it made it my favorite by far. So it’s very likely I’ll be getting me a new D2 Driver in the next month, which I guess will mean I’m not a part of the Titleist Team!

Owning Titleist equipment is not needed to join.  Hanging around, you stand a chance of understanding why this equipment personally fitted is better than going to a big box and buying off the rack.  One thing to note is with a 2 year cycle, there is not the need to buy on a new release, and your investment won't depreciate within 6 months of purchase solely because the maker is dropping the new price mid-cycle.

Unlike suits that are $250 off the rack and $700 custom-tailored, custom-fitted Titleist clubs can usually be purchased for the same price as off the rack. Why not let the best be the best for you?

You may be compensating for ill-fitting clubs.  Make sure when you make the move, the fitter will optimize you as well as your clubs to your swing.  Enjoy pursuing being the best you you can be.

Welcome to the Team Lucas.  I think you will find it a pleasant and learning experience.  The variety of golfers that post here  gives us all something to appreciate, from the wonderful Team Titleist managers to the new golfers like you.  I hope you read and post often, I love to hear about the new experiences of veteran golfers and newbies alike ... no offence, but since I have been golfing for a few years, I hope I get my 1st hole in one before you do ....  just kidding, if you get your hole in one first, that would also be great.

Keep your head down, and follow through :)

Well thank you everyone for your warm welcomes. I'm lucky enough to live right near a PGA Superstore and have gone there to test of irons and driver alike, and have really enjoyed my time spent with the Titleist clubs.

My job is soon going to require me to play a lot more golf, so I figured I'd take the inititive and go out there to know what I'm doing. I have a background in sports already, but I've quickly learned that golfing, while great entertainment, can also be one of the most humbling experiences.

Again, thanks for the warm welcomes and I look forward to getting to know you all AND to my future experiences with Titleist equipment.

Lucas - Welcome to Team Titleist.   Definitely go and get fit for all your clubs - and golf ball too.  You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of the game with clubs that work best for your swing.

Lucas...Welcome aboard.  All the information submitted by your fellow TT mates is there to help and guide you to the right equipment.  Some of us have played Titleist in High School, College, and well beyond into our Senior years.  Some play competitively, while other just causally.  Here's the cool part, we all play and LOVE the Titleist brand.  Sit back and enjoy the forum.  Welcome and good luck in the future.

    Hello Lucas,

Why would you think that by purchasing a new driver would not make you part of TT?  We are all here because we love golf and Titleist equipment.  I played golf for 15 years before I got professionally fitted.  It was the best move I ever made for my game. With just starting out, no one can blame you for starting out with a inexpensive set.  We all did in one form or another.  Whether they were hand me downs, garage sale clubs or whatever.  One needs to be sure they enjoy the game first and understand what it means to you.  If you feel like most of us that this is truly a game for a lifetime and you are ready to make the step into better equipment, then by all means make the leap and enjoy the game.

Best wishes and good luck with you game!

Welcome to TT Lucas.  This board will hopefully give you an appreciation of how much we all enjoy playing Titleist equipment.

To echo other's comments, I would make sure you areprofessionally fit for any new equipment you purchase.  The club selection, loft/lie, shaft, ball, etc. are all variables that can be adjusted to ensure your equipment is appropriate given your swing characteristics.

    Welcome and have fun!

    Lucas,

Welcome to the Team. You'll find TONS of great information on here as well as meet some great people. Feel free to browse around and if you have ANY questions about equipment, etc., don't hesitate to ask. Once you hit a Titleist, you'll be hooked for life.

Welcome to the forum!  As already stated, you don't have to have Titleist clubs to join.  Just start by using a Titleist ball and you will eventually change everything in your bag (including your bag too) to Titleist. That's what has happened and is happening to me. It's a great forum. Titleist products are the best on the market.

  14. Welcome To The Forum Lucas!  Another great aspect of this forum you will quickly discover is the range of experiences most members have so before purchasing anything feel free to ask the question whether it be fitting, equipment or even travel!

    Good Luck, Chris

Welcome to the team, Lucas! I have been playing for years and just recently got professionally fitted and what a great difference it makes! We all started with inexpensive clubs. Those clubs will certainly make you appreciate just how good Titleist equipment is! Enjoy the game, you'll be able to play the rest of your life!  It saved my life and every time  I put a tee in the ground I appreciate just being able to get out and play. Score no longer matters!!  But since the fitting the scores have gone down!!  Good Luck, Enjoy, and Welcome to Team Titleist!!!!!!!
