Going to St Augustine, FL with my Dad to the WGHF. We will be taking the "red carpet" tour, doing the 18 hole putting course, hitting a shot on the "Par 3" signature hole and playing a round on either "The King and The Bear" or "The Slammer and The Squire" golf courses.
My question is, does anyone have any little secrets or nuances about the WGHF, that maybe the 1st timer may not know to do.
I really would like for this to be very special for my Dad. He's 76, had both knees replaced about 6 years ago, brain surgery 2 years ago and still shoots his age or better from the white tees (he hates the senior tees)
If you have anything, please post. Even if you've just been there, chime in.
I don't have any secrets, but I can say that you will have an awesome time. I went there a few years ago and played the 18 hole putting course. I hope to get back there soon, but it is a little too far right now.
We actually have a timeshare there and have gone to the WGHF several times, along with playing both courses. Slammer is definitely an easier course and right there at the Hall.....King & Bear are down the road just a bit. The PGA Superstore has lots of great shopping too! They change up the displays at the Hall and taking the walk around the par-3 lake is fun as you read the inscribed bricks. I believe that they still offer these bricks, so maybe a good extra for your Dad?
Enjoy those memories!
