    Hey Everyone,

I am putting the word out on the TT forum as a group of guys and myself from the GolfWRX site are looking to organize a Texas based Ryder/Presidents cup style match. Basically this match would be a Team Houston vs Team ?????.

At the moment we are gauging interest from other golfers that reside in other parts of the state. The idea is to have a fun filled weekend with a slightly more competitive atmosphere than just a meet and stroke play outing. If this sounds like something you would be interested in helping us organize, please send me an email.

    Thanks,

    Brandon

We could probably fill out a team from DFW. The problem might be finding the time to do it. Fri-Sat-Sun would work for the travelling group. It's something to discuss at Wolfdancer next week.

    Hey Fred,

I was not invited to the Wolfdancer event but there might be a few other Houston guys that are in our golf group that will be. We might even be able to organize a neutral site so both parties have to travel and it would be less travel distance for each party.

I'd be interested in doing something like this, if we can find appropriate numbers of golfers in each locale.

    Hey Fred and Mike,

We can discuss a little more at wolfdancer next week. Finally got an invite today! Anyway it will certainly be something we will plan far enough in advance where we can get the most amount of players.

I figure 2 teams of 8 players. 16 total. I know we could easily come up with 8 from the Houston area, question is can we get an equal amount from other areas. I do like the idea of North Texas vs South Texas if need be.

thanks for getting this started on TT... I'm hoping we can get something going.. i played in a ryder cup style event earlier this year at Horseshoe bay... we played a friday afternoon round, a saturday morning, saturday afternoon, and then a sunday morning round.. for the whole weekend with hotel and all the rounds was around 500.00 per person.. we had 2 teams of 10 players each. it was a great weekend.. we played a lot of side games like skins, closet to pin, and at the end the losing team had to pay the winning team.. so with my winnings it only cost me 250.00 but my buddy made out only paying 50 dollars for everything after his winnings..

i will be on team houston and I'm the one that started this on GOLFWRX.... who wants to play???

Great news Brandon! What are your travel plans? If you're coming up Tuesday, maybe we can play or just discuss it over dinner/drinks Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hi Brandon - I hope we could get some good representation from Dallas and it sounds like a fun idea.  Even if we can't get a city vs city we could do a North TX vs South TX or something similar.  I would be happy to work with you to try to get something together.
