Hello all, I'm new to the site.  I may have gotten off on the wrong foot.  For those that I may have offended, I sincerely apologize.

Today I'm heading to the PGA Superstore in Myrtle Beach.  Looking to pick up a couple of Vokey wedges.  The grooves in my old wedges are starting to wear (mostly outside of the sweet spot).  LOL

I've never had a hole in one.  Any suggestions in that area?  Perhaps the new wedges will help on the short par 3's. (Perhaps also, hitting in that elusive sweet spot would help).

In my titleist collection thus far, I play with Pro V1 balls, I have 48, 52, and 54 degree Vokeys, 3 Scotty Cameron putters that I rotate depending on which one is failing me least, my trusty Titleist players towel (I've lost it 3 times on the course, and it's so ratty, that it always gets turned back in the pro shop, but I love it for it's character), and my bag. I plan on getting a club fitting next spring if there is a Titleist fitting close to me.

Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a great forum experience.

    Happy Holidays all......

Welcome Gary.  Do not sweat the fact that you haven't hit a hole in one.  I regularly play with someone who is a 4 Handicap that doesn't have one and a guy with a 30 plus handicap that has 2.

Welcome Gary!  Glad you had your flame retardant suit on after the first post and came back.  This group is a great place to interact with others who are a little obsessed (did I really say that?) about golf and Titleist equipment.  I think you will find a lot of great individual members here as well as access to some awesome resources with the folks at Titleist.

    Gary -

The par 3 Eagle is no different in skill than holing out from 150 yard and in approach shot.  ...And I haven't done that from more than 20 yards out, either.  A hole that you are familiar with will be the most likely. If you know of any breaks to the hole, you can hone in on a smaller target to get to the hole.  Also helps if the hole matches the distance for one club.  Being between clubs is a little harder to judge for most amateurs.  Then you need to be in good graces with the gods of golf for the magic to happen.

If you are moving from a brand X to a Titleist product, you can check the Titleist Golf Club tab and go the Fitting Network and look for Regional or Advance Fitting Centers.  All the fitters are familiar with the products and at least one person on staff will be Titleist certified..  Not everyone working the day you show up at a large retail outlet will be experienced with Titleist .  I can't imagine how well a fitting goes with someone that carries a non-black driver in the bag.

    Gary,

Welcome to the T/T Nation.  There are a lot of great people and good info on this site.  Don't worry about the hole in one, it'll come.  I've been playing since I was 12 (I'm 65 now) and I just got my first one this past June. Good luck with the fitting, keep us posted on the results.  Fairways and greens.

A hole in one?  Gary, I've been playing since 1955 and the closest I've been is about 5 feet.  I have had three double eagles but no hole in ones.  Of course I think a 2 on a par 5 is much more impressive than a hole in one on a short par 3....  never mind.  My wife who has a 10,000,000,0000 handicap has come closer to a hole in one than me.  Wow, you have an impressive set of clubs... and towels.
