    Hi Everyone,

I was talking with a good friend the other day about some of our best golf shots ever. After trading stories for about an hour, I thought this would be a great discussion on Team Titleist.

I know there have been some similar discussions, but I would like to hear some more stories of the greatest shot you ever hit using a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.  Could be the longest drive you have ever hit, holing out from the middle of the fairway or simply a tournament clinching putt.

I remember mine was during a scramble tournament in southern Florida. We were on our final hole of the day, a 315 yard, drivable par 4 with water on the left and out of bounds on the right. I was the last to tee off, all of my partners were in trouble and I knew we needed at least a birdie to win. I proceeded to hit one of the best drives of my life, carrying onto the green to within 7 feet of the hole. We made the eagle putt and won the tournament by one. That Pro V1x is currently in my apartment on a shelf.

I can't wait to hear some of your stories.

    Take care,

    Bubba

I have played the ProV1X exclusively for many years, with a few great shots.  I was playing in Florence, AL a few years back on a short par 4 where I had driven it poorly and had 124 yds remaining with a stiff right to left breeze. I aimed at the right edge of the green and hit a towering PW that dunked directly into the hole.  It didn't even damage the cup.   I was by myself so you have to take my word on it ;)

Unfortunately my only hole in one came on a 155 yd with trouble everywhere.  I pulled out a "water ball" which happened to be a Mxfli Ndle Spin.  It now resides on a plaque in my office and it burns me up that it wasn't with my Titleist.  Now I only carry scuffed up Pro V1's and X's for those shots!

This year I was given a sleeve of ProV1's, which I have put in play am having good results with.  I've always leaned to the X's because I can use extra distance and the only spin I am dealing with is sideways, but I may be giving the black numbers a seat on the tee for a few rounds.

  3. On May 10, 2014 I made my fourth hole in one at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction, Colorado. It was my Fourth Hole In One that I had use a TITLEIST ball.  My first was in Jan 2005 with a Tour Prestige, my second was in June 2005 with aDT Wound 90, my third was with a PRO 1 in Sept 2012 and my Fourth was with a PRO 1 May 2014. I must confess that from my second hole in one and my third hole in one  that duration of time i used a different brand. It wasnt until i switch clubs and balls back to a complete set of everything TITLEIST that i was able to continue my level of competitive success, and the hole in one's. I will believe that it was your equipment that enable me to return to this level of confedence.  THANK YOU  DR. RONALD P. MACK

I just made the decision late last year to move to the -1x as my primary ball.  Played a course out in Utah with the -1x and had  total of 16 for the 5 par 3's, including a 15 inch tap-in birdie. Played the back nine with 12 putts - hitting the greens was a good day, holding them was the ball.

    Yeah Don,

I have played ProV1 and ProV1X and I like the X better.  To me it flies further and really holds the green.  Especially when I chip, guys ask me how I make the ball stick.  I say it is the ball.  I can no worry about the ball rolling past the hole for a difficult putt.  I hit it right at the hold and it will bounce once and then a tiny bounce and stop.  I even made the ball back up once on a par 3.  I have never done that with any other ball.  I love how it feels, just encourages you to hit it away.  Plus with lessons the ball goes even further!  :)

A bunch of the members here know one of my best shots.  Go over and ask Chris Garrett about it some time.

At the inaugural FootJoy Ambassador Invitiational, we had a pretty close four ball match going . On the 170 yd par 3 Hole #8 at Medinah CC course #3 , CG hit a beauty of a shot right at the pin which was not visible to us.  I flew my ball on a line left of the pin on the green and got a right kick over the ridge towards the hole.  When we got to the green there was only one ball on the green on the line of the pin and it was CG's.  My PROV1X was sitting pretty in the hole for my first Ace.  Plus it clinched the match.

This shot made a special weekend even better.

In a tournament tournament I had to make 30 foot putt to go to a playoff and it was with a prov1x I later won the tourdament.

Like Tim, my most memorable shot is a hole in one, but not in such grandiose circumstances.  Playing with my best buds one morning, I stroked my ProV1x with a pitching wedge 108 yards into the hole on one hop.  It was my second HIO, but first with a Titleist ball.  Now, I make sure I hit only ProV1's or ProV1x's on par 3s, even if I'm playing something else that day (usually cold, winter day or using up balls I've gotten at an event).

Mine came on March 8th, 2014 at Oak Harbor GC in Slidell, Louisiana. After a high school team practice we went out to play nine holes to prepare for our upcoming matches. On my last hole, the 521 yard par-5 ninth, I hit a drive down the left side to protect from the water on the right. My second shot was 248 yard out so i hit my three wood up to the green I saw it roll up to the green but I could not see where the bottom of the flag was. I thought it was over the green but my friend told me it looked like it went in the hole, I replied say, "I wish" while not believing him. When we got up to the green I checked the back of the green to see if my ball was there. It was not and I then checked the hole and I saw the Titleist ball with a red 8 just looking up at me. I as so surprised and happy i just freaked out. I still have the ball on my mantle in the ball holder Titliest sent me. I will never forget that day.

  11. In 2008, I was playing in the Memphis City Publinks Championship.  After the first two rounds I was in third place, but 7 shots back.  So going into the round, I saw little chance of winning (I did win title in 2004).  The leader shot 68 and I still won.  Playing with the Pro-vx (that I switched to in 2007), I shot a 10-under par 60 to win the title by one shot.  It was the greatest round of my life and I did it under the final round presure and to final round pin locations.  So I know this is supposed to be about one great shot, but my story is about one great round.

In the last two years, I have tried many "tour quality" balls and thought about changing, but I always come back to the Pro-vx.

I have never had the elusive hole in one, but what I consider my best shot to date came pretty darn close.  It was on a short Par 4 on the Dye Course at Stonebridge ranch in McKinney, Texas.  This is a downhill bender to the left that has a lot of trouble if you miss the green left, right or long.  I was playing safe and hit a hybrid planning to be around the front of the green.  The shot was well struck, bounced once in front of the green and disappeared from view.  Once we got up to the green, the ball was actually hanging over the edge of the cup.  Until I get a hole in one this shot has to stand as my best shot to date.  As always, it was played with a Pro V1x.  I guess "better luck next time" is appropriate!

My last hole in one was with a Prov1.   Last year Titlelist determined that the Prov1 was the best ball for me.  I am able to keep up with my buddies who hit the Prov1x who are considerably younger than I.  Tee it high and let it fly with a slight draw and not a lot of spin.  Career round, Friday, September 13th, 2013........69......when I posted that score the computer reminded me that the score was not in the normal realm of my scoring range......woopee.......Prov1 "in the bag" #69 FJA.

I was off the fairway to the right about 200 yds from the green which was about 40 feet below. I had to hit a low shot to stay under the tree branches, then have the ball rise enough to carry the distance, then fade about 15-20 yds to land on the green instead of in the creek left of the green. So I put a chop, punch, slice, low, rising fade swing on the Pro V1x and it did everything I needed it to do, struck the green, stopped, and ended up a foot from the hole. It was probably the best shot I have ever hit.
