I just received my Brand New Scotty Cameron Golo Mallet Putter (black) today. I was so excited to finally have received it, but I was quickly brought back down to earth when I took it to the putting green. I was expecting huge improvements from my Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport (silver) which had 15 grams of weight on each side. My Golo only came with 10 grams on each side which doesn't quite feel the same and requires the golfer to hit the ball harder. I didn't see anything on the internet for sale to update the weights for this putter either. Is the 10 grams of weight the standard? Is it possible to get heavier weights - possibly trade for 15-20 grams? I almost feel sick buying this putter because as of now it is not any better than the putter I already had.
No reply from Titleist to date. I sent the putter back in hopes of finding something different.
My GoLo came with 15g weights in it....
I got to back up Chris S on this one, did you order it through Custom Shop or a Pro Shop, if you did you could have specified what weights you wanted in your putter.
I'm not sure that they would fit, but why not try taking the weights you already have and put them in the golo
The reason that the weights are less is because the headweights increased. In the studio select, the head weighs 320 grams plus the weights which would put you at a 350 gram head with 15's. If you wanted a 350 gram head in the GoLo, it will come with 10's because the headweight is now 330. What may be throwing the feel off is because the new putters come with a heavier grip which will reduce the swingweight. Trying switching out the weights if you stay with the stock grip or put another grip on and I guarantee it will feel heavier.
