I had a TKR on my left knee last August and I feel great. When did you have yours done?

Hey there Curt,
A friend of mine had both knees replaced last year. One in October and the other in December. He is now hitting balls on the range, pain free. He actually is increasing his swing speed now too. The pain got pretty unbearable last year. It was affecting his swing and love of the game. But with the replacements, he is now looking forward to the new season with new knees and a renewed love of the game.
It'll be a great new start for you too.

I had a total knee done in July, 2011 and played my first complete round, pain free, in December,2011. I had a cyst in there also that had grown into the bone, so they had to cut that out and fill the hole with a piece of bone held in by a screw. My release to play was longer than normal due to that, so don't fret. My doctor cleared me to chip and putt in September, so that made things a bit better. I have had 4 other knee procedures over the years, and the one thing that I have learned is to listen to your doctor and do what he says. I pushed my first recovery for a Baker's cyst and ended up having the same thing done on the same knee 6 months later. It sure doesn't pay to rush things. Just be patient, follow orders, and DO ALL OF YOUR THERAPY. You'll be back good as new in no time. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.
