I am a new member of "Team Titleist"! I am 17 years old going on 18 next month and have been playing the game of golf since I was 7 years old and I absolutely love it! I will be playing Collegiate golf starting in the Fall of 2013 which I am thrilled and excited for!! I am also a member of the First Tee of Atlanta.
So I have a quick question, "Does anyone know of any golf tournaments that are not to expensive in the Atlanta Metro area?"
I know that there is the Atlanta junior golf association and maybe some Georgia PGA junior tournaments. What school will you be playing for.
Hopefully there is a PGA professional associated with your First Tee program that can steer you in the right direction.
Atlanta should have programs for juniors of all abilities to compete.
Good Luck !
Welcome to the group! I love hearing success stories from the First Tee. My daughters participate in the First Tee of Ft Worth and I am a volunteer coach. I agree with everyone else, you might talk to the First Tee staff to see about inexpensive tournaments. Good luck playing in college...its a dream come true.
Myranda JThanks :) i'll look into the Georgia PGA junior tournamentd; i've already checked out Atlanta junior golf association. And I rather not announce my school yet, i'm still debating about a couple of coaches but i have a pretty good idea of which one i'm going for. I should be signing in mid July :)
Congrats on being apart of the First Tee and loving the game. I'm sure you'll do just fine in college. Like they said, check with your First Tee people to see if they know of any good tournaments for you. Another place to check out is the A.J.G.A. (American Junior Golf Association). Also, call around to some courses to see if they're hosting any tournaments that you may be able to enter. Like, there's "city opens", "county opens", "state opens"...all sorts of stuff out there for you. Another thing that you could do is to get a hold of the coaches you've been talking to, or the one you believe you're going for, to see what he/she recommends. The list just goes on and on.
BTW, welcome to the Team! Glad to have you here! There's a wealth of knowledge on here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Share your golf stories. Browse around and have fun. Tell your friends about Team Titleist, too!
