Friday, July 19th, was the 200th day of the year.

I completed my 200th round of the year.

Then played 36 more holes that day!

Thanks Team Titleist.  Best brand in the world!

    Sure, Skylar!

Rain, sleet, wind, heat, cold.  Almost every element except snow.

I live in Arizona so I'm fairly fortunate.

I put on my FJ rain suit and power through.

    Hope you're doing well.

Keep at it and play, play, play!

    Hi Thomas!

Make at least one part of your day about golf.  Even if it's just hitting putts on your carpet when you wake up.  Swing your clubs at lunch.  And try and get to the course after work if only to hit a few balls.  You'd be amazed what it does for your health.  Golf is great medicine!  Along with laughter!  Keep at it, buddy!

    Hi, Mike!

Thanks for the reply.  I was inspired after my tour fitting in Oceanside last November.  It was the most amazing experience.  I practiced every day and eventually won my club championship in April.  The world record for most rounds in a year is 606.  I'm a little behind that this year but may tackle the record next year.  Last year I logged in over 400 rounds.  I love golf and I love Titleist products.  Getting ready to head out to the course now.  Best to you!

    Mike,

I also put all my stats on Team Titleist "MY GAME" area.

    Every stroke, chip, put, ect.

I love that site to keep track of my game and my progress.

    It's an awesome feature.

    Thanks again!

    Vurich,

Very happy and proud of your goals, dedication and feats of endurance.  Living in AZ and playing in the summer heat would be the biggest challenge.  However, like most of the rest, I am somewhat jealous.  I live in MN and am on the same pace to play 100 rounds this year.  I too love this game and Titleist.  I do not have the complete set such as you, but They are still the best and keep getting better.  Good luck with your golf game and keep pushing for that record.  I would love to see you break it.

    Hey, Jim!

Thanks so much, buddy!  And the same to you!  Keep me posted on your progress.  This year we've had to deal with humidity along with the heat, but it's all great!  A day on the golf course beats doing anything else.  Keep up the great work and thanks for your kind words and encouragement!

    Hey Christian!

lowest was 69 in regular play from tips. 72 in tournament play. Quintero is the best course in Arizona. If you ever have a chance, it's a real treat. Played Cypress Pointe and Pebble last summer. Dream come true. Living the dream now. I've survived 51 years with no kids or spouse so I guess that helps!! Ha! Anyway thanks for the reply and keep playing well!!

Vern - Count me in the jealous category too.  I was going to ask about a wife or kids, but you answered that question.  I love golf as much as anyone, but if I played as much as you, I wouldn't have a wife anymore :)   With work and family, I'm lucky to sneak out a couple of times a week.  Keep living the dream for the rest of us!

  17. Very jealous indeed..I'm an avid golfer from MN and used to be in the 80-100 rounds a year. A wife, a child, and a real job later, I'm lucky to squeak in a round a week. My handicap is higher, but it helps in the few tourneys I acrually play in. Keep on keepin' on for all us, Vern. Keep going low!

    Hey Bryan!

I don't have a set schedule.  I get out whenever I can and some days I just can't make it, so I'll try and double up as many times as I can.  For instance, I played 36 holes Saturday and Sunday this last weekend just in case.  Slow play kills me as does the extreme heat and humidity we've had in Arizona this summer.  I never make a tee time and sometimes I'll have to wait a while to get out so I'll putt and chip until it's clear.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Awesome accomplishment, Vern!

Would live to play that much golf but I fear my wife might shoot me (which she has already threatened to do)!  I have 4 standing annual out of town tournaments each year and often end up fitting one or two more, not to mention the local ones, but I think I am pushing it with the family even as is.  I only play about 100 rounds a year and I get alot of flack for the volume of golf that I play at that level.  Fortunately in Texas we can play pretty much year-round as well.  It's hard to even get my head around 200 rounds in 6 months.  Maybe one day down the road.....

Good luck in hitting your goal of 600+ rounds in a year.  If anybody can do it, it soulds like your schedule sets up perfectly.  Keep us posted as you reaqch towards that goal!

    Hey, Mike!

Thanks for the reply.  Things have been working out great so far.  It wasn't always that way.  I was in a hit and run accident after my 2nd year of college.  I barely survived.  Was given the last rites and didn't play golf again for almost 25 years.  I guess I'm making up for lost time.  I was sidelined by an elbow injury a few years ago from golf and a knee injury this year along with the flu twice!  Other wise I'd be much further along.  I'm just happy to be playing.  I'm really not out to play for the numbers, but just to play.  Enjoy yourself.  That's really the key.  I see so many unhappy golfers and wonder why they even play at all.  Oh, well.  To each his own.   Keep up the good work!

Wow! My hands are sore just thinking about 200 rounds in 6 months. One of my best friends owns the record of 611 set in 2011. He played all rounds walking and carrying his bag. http://topworldrecords.blogspot.com/2010/12/richard-lewis-played-600-rounds-in-year.html

Good luck with that Vern. You're going to need to be in: 1. Really great shape (Richard used to swim 1/2 mile every morning for several years before the attempt) and 2. Eat a lot of food (he had to eat a large pizza every night day to have enough carbs to do it and 3. BE COMMITTED. What was even more amazing than his walking every one of the 611 rounds, he set records for most consecutive days playing 72, 54 and 36 holes, ALL IN THE TEXAS HEAT.

    Hi, Ron!

Thanks so much!  I hope to purchase more Titleist products this fall!  Love everything Titleist.  I just bought a Titleist shag bag which is awesome and the backpack and briefcase look good.  Of course, the new 2013 balls are like crack to me.  I can never but enough.  There is nothing like the feel of a new prov1 to start off the day.  Thanks again and best to you always!

That's so awesome. I need to pick up the pace on my rounds.  I try to average 1 round a week, and so far I'm behind schedule.  My job gets in the way.  I just need to get out there and play after work, no matter how hot it is outside.

    Hey Dallin!

The heat is definitely the worst element to play in.  I grew up in Michigan, so humidity and rain isn't that bad.  But when it's gets above 110, it's really difficult.  I've tried playing first thing in the mornings, but the humidity plus heat in Arizona this summer are tough.  I usually don't get out until the afternoon when the course is less crowded, but it's also the hottest, but I'd rather deal with heat than crowds.  I can't tell you how many times I've been dragging after a few holes, certain I could only get in 9.  But then I'll play one more hole, and find myself playing 18 and every single time I've powered through I've found gold in my game by pushing myself just a little.  The more you do, the more you can do.

    Keep playing well Dallin!

Vern, You need a golf cart air conditioner. I made a few of them last year and they take the edge off of the heat, so long as you can reload the ice after 9 holes.
