The thought crossed my mind the other day that brand loyalty just doesn't exist anymore.  I see golfers of all walks of life decked out with every brand available.  I see a Titleist hat on a guy wearing an Ashworth shirt, swoosh pants, and Ecco golf shoes.  In their Sun mountain bag I notice the Vokeys, the Adam's hybrids, and the White driver with no head cover.  For a split second I wonder if he knows something that I don't know.  I quickly run through each club in my mind and come to the realization that I truly do play the very best equipment and wear the best available attire.  You see, I'm a Titleist-a-holic.  I look down on every other brand as inferior.  Right?  Wrong?  I don't know.  It's just how I am.

I imagine that there are a few of you here on this web site that are similar to me, but I just don't know.  Maybe I have a problem.   I'm talking about having the latest Titleist staff bag personalized with my name and Iowa State logo embroidered on it down to not being able to play a serious round of golf if I don't have a shiny new Pro V1x.  I can only wear FJ shirts, shoes, and gloves, and even struggle to be comfortable without my standard white mesh Titleist hat.  Seriously, do I have issues?

Sorry to turn this into an AA meeting, but I had to get this out after my club pro told me on the way out that he had something in the office closet that he called "Christmas-come-early" to me.  It was the new Fall line up of FJ shirts.  I was good and only bought two.

So it turns out I'm brand loyal.  I don't apologize.  I know I'm playing the best equipment and wearing the best clothes, and I do carry a 1 handicap so guys at the club don't give me too much crap.

    Anyone else feel the same??

I'm the same with regards to my Irons, Metal Woods, Wedges & Putters....Titleist all the way!!!

When I first started playing golf regularly after high school & college I had an interesting Northwestern Set of Irons and a Bstone Whopper Driver...Crazy Technology!!!! In 1994 I took second place in my city tournament for my division and with the winnings I purchased my first set of Titleist DCI Blacks...In 1995 I purchased a Titleist DCI Starship Driver...I have never looked back!!!!

Titleist does make the best Golf Equipment in the Universe...but I do think they are lacking in apparel and carry bag technology.

    Love my Titleist!!!!

Loved the post, Brad.  I think you are preaching the the choir here and, by the way, I don't think anybody on thois board could possibly think you have a problem... wink, wink.

When Titlest introduced the AP2 irons, I switched over from my png irons and never looked back.  I have purchased every new iterationthat has come out since and already have a slot with the Fittingworks tour van booked to get into the 714's.  After realizing how great the irons are, I migrated to the Titleist woods from the TM's and have never looked back.  I have tried to hit various other manufacturers products and each time I do, I reaffirm that I am already hitting the best product out there with Titleist!

I too have been victim of acquiring a staff bag with my name and club logo, carrying the Titleist backback for overnight trips and having way too much stuff with the Titleist logo but, at the end of the day, it's because I do have brand loyalty and will continue to have it in the future as well.  Once I find something I like and think is the best, I stick with it.  That being said, I think it is a safe statement that Titleist is the best out there and will continue to be so for many years to come.

Like Mike, I migrated from png irons and TM woods to an all Titleist bag, arriving at the same conclusion that I am now playing the best equipment in the game, and as a result, I've lowered my GHIN to a career best.

Besides the club and bag, I have my Team Titleist bag tag proudly displayed, as well as my "I'd Rather Be Driving a Titleist" bumper sticker on my car.  I'm trying to figure out how to pimp out my ClicGear with a Titleist theme.

Hi.  My name is Josh and I'm a Titleist-a-holic...  It's been three days since my Titleist purchase.  I keep finding myself in golf shop parking lots, holding a new box of ProV's, and I have no recollection of how I got there.

In all seriousness I'm the same way.  In fact I recently won a TM bag, swoosh cleats, and a pretty nice polo from a member guest I played in.  Even though my bag is worn, and I want a new one, there's no way I'll toss my Titleist wrenches in another bag.  I'll probably sell that gear to get a new lightweight stand bag.

If my book it's Titleist all the way.

I'm with you Dr. K.  I absolutely giggled like a school kid when I bought my first set of Titleist irons and woods in 2005 and as I waited  for my recent set of custom fit 712 AP2s and woods this past Summer, I felt like a 10yr old on Christmas morning .  However, I am 5' 10" and weigh 168lbs.  The FJ apparel just isn't cut for my body type.  The shirts swallow me around the waist and the pants hang on me with enough room for a Beagle to jump in.  I'd love to be a Titleist brand ambassador in my clothing as well as my bag, clubs and balls but for me the fit, material and style of another brand feels and looks better.

And to think, I thought I was the only one.  I have a Titleist License Plate, Team Titleist LOGO on the back window, My office bears the Titlesit, TPI, FootJoy, and Scotty Cameron LOGOs on the wall, 5 staff bags, 6 cart bags, at least 50 FJ Shirts,FJ scoks (black and white), I only order personalized Titleist Prov1x Golf Balls, I have every pair of FJ Shorts and Pants (with matching FJ Icon shoes), and I struggle with the Titleist and FJ Gloves.  Depending on what tournament, I could go either way.  I get crap from all I play golf with, my local Pro has finally stopped giving me crap with all my special orders etc....  HOWEVER, When I recently (Last Saturday) hoisted the Senior Club Champion trophy over my head, cried with my beautiful wife over the emotion of a year long dream and accomplishment, it was then I realized that to do all of this with TITLEIST equipment, made me the proudest guy in the world.  No apologies necessary......Thank God there are more of us..... You made us whole Brad...

Congrats on a great win and achievement Steve, you have something to be very proud of.

I too am extremely loyal to the Titleist brand as I have to match while on and off the course. I see the mixed brand bags all the time and think to myself "if they only knew what they are missing out on". I take some grief occasionally about how I am providing free advertisement   until they see a beautiful tee shot with my Titleist driver and a perfect ball flight of a ProV ball that includes a balanced finish with a FJ logo glaring in their eye's as I turn and say "Thank You".

I do have to admit though, FJ needs to step up their game with apparel designs that include some bright colors and designs to engage the younger generation as other brands appeal to them based on looks, fit and style.

Thannk you Titleist for a wonderful product !!!

    Jimmy,

This coming Spring there is some great designs and colors.  FJ is doing a great job of balancing younger and classic designs.  They keep getting better every year so keep your eyes out.

    cheers

Everything in my Bag is Titleist except for the wooden tees and Bushnell rangefinder. Bag is also Titleist.
Shoes are Footjoys. I would say that 90% of golf wear is a swoosh,

    Brad,

You are not alone!  I think the same way.  All Titleist and all FJ for me.  I definitely shake my head when I see the random bags of clubs and twelve different logos on their clothing.  They just haven't seen the light yet!  It's our mission to spread the good word of Titleist and FJ!

Like Steve H said I am glad others are like me.  LOL, my friends call me the "Titleist Nazi", which I take as a compliment!  I am a lifer with Titleist equipment, started with a set of blades in 1976 and have come full circle back to 712MB now.  I have tried other brands but I do not get the same feel, perhaps it is more mental than anything else, but I am happy!  I really think of myself as more than just a Titlest player but more of an ambassador.  I work in Hawaiii a good bit of the year and always talking with other golfers on the flights and in the airports.  I find myself asking about their equipment and telling them about Titliest equipment and how great the company is and the support one gets.  I have a tattoo of my beloved 690CB 2 iron on left bicept and the housel comes down a bit low, people notice it and people are shocked that I have a club tattooed.  I tell them that I only have things that mean the world to me tattooed, my kids, my music, and my golf equipment!  I hope my wife does not read this!!!  LOL..  FJ/Titleist has a fantastic group of folks behind them in Team Titleist and I am personally honored to be a part!  BTW I also wear nothing but FJ shirts and shoes on and off the course.

I also have a confession to make, I am not just a titleist a holic I am a golf a holic. All I think about is how I can go lower. Titleist has been very helpful with that. This whole thing started in the spring of 2012 when I picked up my first club. I was a division 1 baseball player in college and feared golf would mess with my swing so I waited until I was done to go to a much more difficult game. I started out with TM burner 2.0 but hated the big clunky heads from the get go. I hit Ap2s one time at a demo and I was sold. This opened up Pandora's box. I soon after bought a 910 d3 then decided I needed a 910 fd 3 wood. Then dropped the bomb on ap2s followed by a set up of vokeys. Then I drooled at Scotty Cameron's. which I now own two. Good thing my gf has no clue how much this stuff costs. I refuse to play with any ball but pro v1 or prov1x. Oh did I mention the unnecessary titleist staff bag? My friends make fun of me so much calling me a "titleist rep", but I have the last laugh when I have been playing a year and a half and I have a 7 handicap and have shot par once and they are stuck in the 80s. I agree with everyone and wished FJ would make a better appeal product. swoosh steals my money in that category. I practice and practice and practice. Titleist may just break my wallet but I love it and can't wait to continue my love affair with titleist and cheers to lower scores.
