I am a new golfer and have been going through the paces to solidify my game. Practice, practice; then lesson after lesson until I felt ready for fittings, purchases and more practice. Now it seems the psychological aspects of this wonderful sport is outweighing all else. Can anyone share with me some tips on how to master this elusive aspect of the game?

    Jinger,

Keep it Simple!  Don't overthink it.  While practicing is great, but if it is not strategic or specific practicing, you are doing yourself a disservice.  Get connected with a PGA Teaching profession in which you trust and feel comfortable or get a golf coach.  Trust the equipment you play - if it is all Titleist, you are good shape.  The way I play golf is I think of the course as a driving range and there happens to be a hole when I get to my ball. Think of the confidence you have on the range and do not put too much pressure on yourself or too much value on the shot at hand, score, the outcome or what others around you think. Hit it and hit again.  Be in the moment, hit the shot and then go get it.  Again, I don think too much! I have an index card that I clip to my yardage book and scorecard that I read before every shot.  It reads "Take Your Time, Ignore Everything, Be In The Moment, Process and Spot, One Shot At A Time". Pick the club appropriate for the shot and pull the trigger then get over it.  Or maybe as I do when I play, I have a yardage for every course whether public or private so I can plan my strategy to ensure I go into the round confident knowing yardages and course info.  Try some of this out and I hope it helps you become the golfer you hope to be!  Play Well! Play #Titleist !

Both instructors I've used both told me to find his books if I couldn't stop analyzing my game on course. Work off-course, enjoy playing on course. It is a game, and I'll never be able to leave my day job, anyway. Learn to enjoy playing. Once you do, you won't carry your last bad shot to your next.
