The snowbanks are close to 12' high in my driveway and I feel like shoveling is the new "cross fit" workout in my neighborhood. One positive thing about all of the recent shoveling, it gives me a lot of time to think about golf and getting ready for the season when the snow eventually melts.

With that in mind, we were thinking it would be fun to plan an informal get together at a local indoor golf facility in the Metro West area of Boston.

As we look into all of the finer details, we thought the first item of business would be to see whether a weeknight or weekend meet up would work best for everyone who might be interested joining for a couple of hours of fun on the simulators.

Take the quick poll below and let us know if you're interested in meeting up.

Desperate times require desperate measures. Might consider it. Even the heated stalls here in WI get pretty uncomfortable below 15F and most days have been. The grooming is in good shape, we only have about a foot on the ground. I might be willing to bet whether my 27 inches along the driveway stays longer than your 12 foot mounds. I'm looking for a sign of spring more than daylight at 5pm.

You know I would love to brother Mike.  But I am more of a tropical person.  Our winter and your winter are very much different animals.  lol

Now that is dedication! Rink looks awesome. We'll have to see on the pick up game but we'll definitely keep you posted on the meet up when it materializes.

    Talk to you soon!

Sounds like a great idea Mike! I'd be making the drive up from CT so a weekend day would be best for me.

Mike My Grandson Mitch and I were playing catch down in his basement when he hit me below the waist with "Grampy, would you rather be playing catch with me or playing golf". One case where telling the truth is not the right answer. Any day is better then this snow. Jerry Wood

Glad you guys are getting together to at least get some golf time in at the simulators and out of the snow. From somebody who grew up where winters had a lot of snow, I feel your pain! We are alternating between the 30's and the 70's but at least the 70's have been hitting over the weekends as opposed to the other way around. Hopefully the weather will break soon, the sun will shine and golf season will be back upon all of us really soon. Golf on the simulator is much better than golf in the snow. Enjoy!

I'm not sure how my local range ( southboro golf ) is doing .  In the winter months when the snow comes they usually have to pick up the balls by hand.  I don't think that is possible with this much snow.

    Hey, Mike!

Would love to make it out to Boston.  Unfortunately, the perfect weather in Scottsdale, AZ (Temp today, 75, sunny and heavenly) is preventing me from flying.  Doctor's orders, you know.  I have been told to "stay put while the sun is shining" and putt and chip and play and practice all day everyday until the sun sets.  Rest and repeat until thoroughly satisfied.  What can I do, Mike? Doctor's orders...  You understand, buddy!  Enjoy!  Vern  (Below:  Troon North Golf Course, Scottsdale, AZ - 2/17/2015).

I like the way your doctor thinks, Vern. I might need to get a referral.

Please follow doctor's orders and enjoy!

I've been working several Saturdays lately, but if the weekend was right, I'd enjoy pulling out the clubs for a couple of hours.  Might not like what I see, but it would be fun!

I was in Boston last weekend - what a mess!  Even train service to Back Bay - it took my daughter nearly 4 hours to get from New London to her apartment off of Huntington Ave.  I feel for you guys.

Small world, yes, CT.  Where are you know?

Her train originated in Old Saybrook, but I figured more people knew New London.  Still, it was a ridiculously long trip.  If I wasn't working, I would have driven her, as it's barely a 100 mile trip.

Sounds like fun.  The banks in the city aren't a lot of fun either (pic from 2 weeks ago, and no, there are no cars under this bank).

Mike, the only golf we will be playing around here will be indoors...probably until June!!!

Mike like the idea and the attitude. Life is good and have to enjoy it the best way you can. No snow in Charleston, SC but the temperatures are not cooperating and the wind chill is keeping us inside as well. Have not played in two weeks. Causing a lot of flu like symptoms which add to all the excitement as well. You guys need to meet up with the FJ guys and have indoors simulator tournament. I bet Chris and Devin would love it. Stay warm and be safe. We need eliminate that furry beast that predicts these long winters up in Pennsylvania named Phil. Have to blame it on someone. Cheers, Chuck
  31. Mike, I'm in Southeastern CT and would definitely make the trip to Beantown to be with fellow TT golfing fanatics in the simulator. Got friends in Melrose that I need to check up on...haven't heard anything from them since the first blizzard in late January. All the best, Ray G
