Do you have a favorite golf memento? I've started collecting pencils from the different courses I've played and always try to pick something up at the different events I've been able to attend. But, my favorite memento has to be my hole-in-one bag tag from Innisbrook.

How about everyone else? What's your favorite golf memento and feel free to share a pic!

Probably my favorite was from a few months ago.  I was playing a local course and found a ball sitting next to the green.  It was none other than a Titleist Tour Balata 100.  I played them many, many years ago when they were still being made.  It sits on my desk next to one of my other favorite mementos, a prototype from testing last year.  I posted a picture of the balata previously here on TT, but here's another.

Thats great, I just found a Tour 100 Balata just last week.... Thought about finishing my round with it, but tossed it in to my bag for my collection

Where was the pin MIke? That can be a tricky hole depending on the placement. Good job!

Thanks, Tony! The pin was back-left and I just put a good strike on my Pro V1x with a 6-iron (AP2), one hop and watched it release into the hole. Definitely fun to watch.

I wish I had that bag tag! I like to look for unique bag tags from top courses. My favorite is a brass tag from Aviara.

    Hi Mike,

I don't have just one favorite memento. Anything I have with Titleist on it, my cart bag, my 915D2 driver, my 915 F 3 wood,

my TT bag tag, my TT lanyard, and all of my Titleist hats. You work for the number one company in golf. I'm a Titlsist man for life. There is no feeling like coming home from working at the course all day to find a pkg. in the mail from you guys. A class act all around!

    Play Well,

    Steve S.

Hole-in-one balls and scorecards aside, this plate is my favorite memento.  My late older brother and I won it for finishing first in our flight at the Golf Styles (formerly Washington Golf Monthly)  Millennium Golf Classic at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, VA.  The event is held the first weekend in January every year, having begun in Jan 2000.  My brother and I played in it together five times, I believe, but this was our only win.  It's the only trophy I have that the two of us won together.

    Mike,

I have acquired a lot of golf mementos over the years, but I don't really consider any one item to be my favorite (although if I had a hole-in-one bag tag, I suppose that would be my favorite, but 30+ years in and I'm still waiting).  Having material mementos is very nice, but to me it's the memories they bring back more than the memento itself.  When & where I got it, how I played that day and the friends I was playing with (those still living and especially those who have since past).  Again, to me more than the material memento, it's the memories I cherish.  I'm sure that every time you look at your Innisbrook bag tag, that moment in time floods back into your memory as if it were yesterday.

Well said, Barry. You hit the nail on the head and that is why this memento is so special to me - the memories, the stories and the experience.

    Cheers,

My favorite is my first Senior Am in the "Net" Division.  Kept the same ball (Prov1-X)  for all 54 holes.  It served me well. Nice to have some bling that reminds you of hard fought accomplishments.

I have a lot of great golf mementos that all remind me of a certain event or experience whether it be a trophy to remember a win or something from a course to remember a special round or shot (I am still waiting on the first home in one to drop).  As was stated in a couple of other posts, it is the memories that are the real treasures and all of these mementos just bring back the memories.

One of my favorite Titleist experiences was meeting with Bob Vokey at the Oceanside facility to fit my wedges.  It was such a great experience and one that I will always cherish.  When we were done, Mr. Vokey signed a flag for me which it on my office wall and is a pretty cool memento from the day.

Also, if I want to remember the experience, they filmed a video discussing the Vokey WedgeWorks program that day and I was in the video as the person Vokey was working with.  The flag and the video are cool ways to remember the experience.  Below is a picture of the flag and a link to the video from that day.

I've been lucky to have been playing golf for more than 50 years and I am proud to say I have been a Titleist guy all along.  I've played many courses and collected bag tags, pencils, score cards, hats and about any type of memorabilia you can think of, most now relegated to storage.  The ones that still have a place of honor in my office are two Hole-in-One awards and two Double-eagle (Albatross) awards sent to me by Titleist for these accomplishments.  Titleist has shown time after time why they are the #1 company.  They honor the game, produce the best equipment in golf and they appreciate those of us who play Titleist equipment.

My most favorite golf memento is my Scotty Cameron divot tool display rack, very well made, red metal platform, silver Cameron sign with black lettering. It was given to me as a tournament prize in the early 2000's.  I've never seen another one like it, but assume many were produced. I keep it on my desk with my collectable divot tools in it.

Probably my favorite mementos are the 5 golf balls in my collections that I was playing with when I made 5 hole-in-ones over these past many years.  Two balls are Titleist balls and two hole-in-ones were made on the same hole at the same course 2 years apart.  I made my first hole-in-one when I was 11 years old at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas 41 years ago.  Running a very close second in my golf collection is the signed PGA Championship Pin Flag that is only one of 4 signed by President Bill Clinton.  While I was in attendance my First Cousin President Bill Clinton received the PGA Distinguished Service Award last year at the site of the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky played at Valhalla. Being a PGA Golf Professional myself it means a great deal to me and I was even interviewed by the PGA prior to the ceremony for cousin Bill.

I haven't achieved a lot in terms of accomplishments so I don't have a lot of momentos.  I do have a memory bank of some great experiences, one playing a web.com tournament course two days before competition, but have chosen not to keep a lot (pencils, scorecards, etc.)  Hopefully if I become a little more accomplished or have super special experiences, I'm sure that I will then have special momentos.  As a mental performance coach/sports psychologist, I hope for more of my golf experience momentos to be professional.

I collect logo balls from clubs I play. I am currently at 653 which is a lot of swings. I have been very lucky to play some of the best courses in the world since I am in the golf business as a certified golf course superintendent. I have lots of signed items from major winners and the greats of the game but the best may be an Old Tom Morris wedge that was given to me by a member from my club. He has given 150 hickory clubs. This iOS especially relevant as the Open Championship just finished. Keep it in the short grass!            Tim Powers, CGCS

    Mike,

Thanks for sharing about the bag tag.  My mementos would be the actual flags from courses I play.  Any course that I travel too that has a flag, I usually purchase one.  They all are hung up in my golf cave.  My favorite is when I was stationed in Hawaii.  I was allowed to play the Waialae Golf Course where the Sony Open is played.  I bought a flag, and brought it back the following January for the Sony.  It was the last year I would get the chance to go before moving back to Texas.  I was fortunate enough to have Speith, A. Scott, M. Kuchar and Scotty Cameron sign it for me.  Mr. Cameron was nice enough to draw a Big Cameron Crown on it for me.

    Thanks again,

    Brent

I have only been playing for a little less than two years so I don't have many mementos yet. However, a couple months ago I got my first hole-in-one. Par 3, 158 Yard 7 iron. My V1X dropped, bounced back a bit and rolled in the cup. It was kind of surreal for a moment when i saw it happen. Then it sunk in that I just did it! I just received my Hole-In-One bag tag from Titleist. They even engraved my name on the back!. How awesome is that?. Now, I have a great story and a miniature trophy for my bag LOL.  I love my AP2 714s, 915 driver, FW, HB and Vokey SM5 wedges. The only way anyone is getting a hold of my clubs is out of my cold dead hands. Thanks Titleist.

From a physical item perspective I would have to say my hole-in-one ball. I recorded my first hole-in-one in the first round of our Club Championship tournament several years ago.

From an actual golf perspective I would have to say the friendships that I have made through the game of golf. The experiences and places my passion for golf has taken me (Scotland and the Old Course, Bandon Dunes this fall), various Team Titleist events (#3Points), FootJoy Ambassador events, volunteering at various tournaments (2015 PGA being the most recent) and most recently having the opportunity to take an inside look at the Titleist Tour truck.

I am sure I am forgetting a few and will be making more in the the future.

I have a lot of mementos and memories, but the one I still use and see every day (putting cup and Pro V1's in my office at work) is my first putter,  a Acushnet "Bulls Eye" flange 35" in black, it still has the Bulls Eye Band and GP "Pro Only" Titleist Grip. Though hard as a rock now !!!

My boss uses it more than I now,  but it does give him reason to stop by, hit a couple of putts,  and tell me how bad he played the previous week....

I have a couple of "newer" ones in brass with leather grips, and still feel great to hit.  Sorry Scotty Golo 5S, though your'e now my gamer, and in the bag, you weren't the first...

My favorite three mementos would probably be from my three hole-in-ones. My first at my home club was when I was in high school and played on the golf team, I got a large plaque from the club for that one. The other two I have the Pro V1's that I was using, I still keep them in the valuables pocket of my Titleist stand bag. My second hole-in-one was probably the most special because I jarred it from 165 yards, never touched the green, just straight in the hole. Been playing the Pro V1 since high school and plan on keeping it that way!

Not necessarily a memento, but my 56 degree Vokey Wedge is my favorite golf item. It was the first club I got to hit after recovering from pancreatic cancer in 2012. While recovering, my goal was to hit a golf ball by end of July. My surgery was in May, out of hospital and rehab first week of June. On the 28th of July I was able to go to the local course, take my Vokey and some ProV1s and reach my goal.  So I suppose this is my hole in one and golfing highlight.

My favorite momento is probably this bag tag.  My grandfather gave it to me around 30 years ago when I was a kid and just starting to golf.  We were on the 18th tee box at Napa Muni golf course and he pulled it off of his bag and told me that his brother had given it to him and he wanted me to have it.  On the back it still has the original Avery style label with my name on it that he made, but below that, I can still see his writing were he had his own address.  Since that day, I've had that tag tucked away in the pocket of my bag for every round of golf I have played.

I have so much golf memorabilia at my house, most of it is stashed away in the basement.  A lot of it was acquired while playing and traveling to different courses with my Dad as I grew up.  Obviously those bring back a lot of special memories I'd love to relive.  However, currently my favorite golf memento has to be the ball marker my wife got me last year.  On one side are the names of my two kids and the other side has imprints of their actual hand-prints (scaled down obviously).  It's become so special I barely use it out of fear I will lose it!  But even sitting in my dresser drawer, it brings a smile every morning when I see it.

I get a logo ball from every course that I play and proudly display them on a display case.  Every once in a while I will look back at some of the courses I have played and it brings back happy memories (or sometimes disappointment from lost opportunities).

I don't have a favorite memento but my favorite golf memory occurred this last July. I was playing in a local tournament and I had my dad on the bag. We had a great two days. On the last day he helped me shoot 73 (2 over) and make the cut for the city finals on the number. Those two days were probably the most fun I have ever had on a course and the memory will stick with me forever.
