I've already figured out what I want for my 50th birthday. A trip to Oceanside and the Titleist Performance testing center.  I'm starting a "fund" today so I can do it all. New woods, irons, wedges and any swag available.  It's still 2 years 6 months away but it should be the perfect time to update the whole kit. This is going to be good, got to stay in shape and keep sharp for the fitting, it's good motivation to have a goal that's just out of reach but abtainable.

Who else planned a Golf related 50th birthday gift and what did you do?

Bryan, I hit the big 50 in August and played one of the nicer courses in my area. And to follow that up, I have an appointment set for a full-bag fitting at Manchester Lane at the end of this month. Since it's a bit of a drive from Philly, I am also playing at TPC Boston the day before the fitting and might even try to see a Pats game. Steve

Excellent and it appears we think a like.  Can't wait for the Full-Bag fitting myself.  Let us know how it goes and what changes to your clubs they recommend.

Looks like you are getting the plan together well in advance Stephen.  I don't think I could wait two and a half years for a fitting at Manchester Lane as I would want it to happen today!  I don't turn 50 for another five years but it sounds like I am going to have to begin thinking about plans for by big birthday soon.  Good luck on achieving your goal.

5 years will go by in a blink... time really does start to go faster... too bad my swing speed isn't also.

Sounds great.  I just turned 30 last year, so I have a ways to go before I hit the big 50.  Know that the build up will be intense until the very day comes.  Glad you are starting to save now!
