The Iron Forge Course is a links style course with minimal trees...excellent for fall golf.

Where at?  One of my good friends lives in Coatsville.  We usually meet at a course roughly half way between us a few times a year.

I actually live less than 10 miles from Penn National.  It's actually 36 holes.  My old neighbor's dad actually founded the courses and surrounding community.  I grew up playing out there when it was only one course, but I haven't made it there in at least 10 or 15 years.  It never seems to make it into our rotation of courses.

So I was planning on playing down towards northern Virginia simply because I thought more people would be able to get there.  But if people want to come my way, I'd be more than happy to play one of the courses in my area.  Whatever is easiest for the most people.  I just want to get as many of us in the area together as possible.  Any suggestions?

I used to live in Frederick, MD there tons of great courses in Frederick & Montgomery counties as well as Northern, VA.

We need to get back to the area soon for a visit.

Penn National would be a good spot to meet, but so would the Links at Gettysburg!  Very memorable course, worth the drive up from MD/DC/NoVA

Hey Tdogg21, I live in south Jersey. Va. is just a little to far. I have two active teenagers who love and play hoop all over N.J. If your ever up here, give me a shout. I'm a supervisor at a county owned course in Ocean Co. It used to be private until the county bought it in 1989. It was built by George Fazio in 1962. Great old tract with lots of history. Just a thought.

I'm in Leesburg, VA and would be interested a NOVA/MD outing as well.  No doubt!  

It sounds like we have a couple of people from the NOVA area and one person from the philly area.  I'm in the middle.  How would you guys feel about meeting in my area?  Penn National or the Links of Gettysburg would be good courses.  Check and see how close you guys are and let me know if you'd be willing to meet there.  I'm thinking maybe Nov. 7th in the AM.

It's been difficult to for me to find the time to get out, and it didn't seem like there was much interest.  But with that being said, I plan to play somewhere this weekend if anyone wants to join me.  Or if we have enough people (I'm thinking at least 8) that want to commit to one of the upcoming weekends, I'll do the leg work to get something set up.

I might be able to play next Saturday.  Where are you at?

I grew up on #6 at Chambersburg CC. My dad used to own/operate Ironmasters golf shop, and played with TK Nitterhouse on a pretty regular basis.
