    Hey Team Titleist -

As we continue to post our favorite moments from 2015, we want to know what type of stories you would like to see in the coming year.

If you selected, "other," let us know what you would like to see from Team Titleist in 2016 in the comments below.

    Thank you and happy holidays!

After spending 35 years working in the aerospace industry I have a great appreciation for R & D.  To me, it is the life blood of a successful company, regardless of the type of products they produce.  I would love to see stories about club and golfball development (understanding that a fair amount of information may be proprietary and won't be discussed).  I would also like to know more about how Titleist selects and tests custom option shafts and how the "standard" shafts are selected from all of the available options.

On the instruction side, I'd love to hear from the Pros regarding the mental side and course management!

I'll second that.  I know we're not on their level, but I'm sure it will be a difference maker in my game.

Behind the scenes for me. Always interesting to see "what we aren't supposed to"

Like most of us, I spend quite a bit of time doing on-line research as well as general "just for kicks" reading about golf. I had custom shafts installed on my AP-1's and also would like to see more on the Titleist selection and testing process for their shaft options. (degreed mechanical engineer)

  7. I spent all my working life in manufacturing, so my interest is mainly in R&D.  I have the new AP 2 irons fitted with graphite shafts, but I would also be interested in how Titleist test, the best fit shafts for the average player.(I'm 12 handicap)

I have improved my accuracy, and also I'm using 1 club less than I did with my Callys.

I have vokey wedges with Dynamic Gold shafts.....I just wonder if I would get better feel with graphite?

My Vokeys all have, and have always been Dynamic Gold shafts. I can't think of anyone I know that plays graphite shafts on their Vokeys. If you do try it, please let us know how you like them and what you experience with different playing characteristics.

  9. Always fun to read about behind the scenes and if a touring pro is particular about his/her bag set up to give some thoughts how they arrived at the mix in their bag.  R&D is also a lot of fun to read about since Titleist takes great care and pride in their deep and sophisticated research process.

R & D is my choice. I enjoy the other topics as well, but it's cool to read and see how and what Titleist is doing to stay ahead of the competition.

Any behinds-the-scenes or "the making of" information is always appreciated.

    Thanks for asking!

I voted for "Behind the scenes" which I assume means behind the scenes at Titleist.  I'd love to see that, but I'd also like to see behind the scenes at Tour events and maybe behind the scenes for Tour players.

  13. MLB12

I voted Behind the scenes always interested in what Titleist is doing that the general public does not have access to.

  14. Bryan W

Behind the Scenes was also my choice.  There is a lot that we all don't see from TV or even read in the articles that I think would be fascinating. Thanks Titleist for allowing us to vote and have a say in the 2016 content.

i voted for "behind the scenes "..

  16. Marchi

I love the behind the scenes and R&D stuff.  I like seeing the shops and how things are made and customized.  Its so cool to see the tour vans and shops.  I'm all about that!

Abby  It may be of interest to some if you ran a series devoted to the history of the company. Where it all started and by whom. There have to be some old photos in the archives you could reprint and maybe some old plans regarding balls and clubs. Just a thought.

I'd Love to see some Instruction from the Pro's.  You never know when 1 tip can change the way you approach your game.

  19. Raymond B

The average golfer loves to hear tips from professionals.  Some of their tips are very "simple" but very effective!  2016 is going to be  my trip to a single digit handicap now that I am 100% #teamtitleist.  Happy holidays and HAMMERDOWN always down

I would like to see more of all of the listed choices. Anything Titleist Golf works for me!! How about behind the scenes with the tour pros as they give instruction and discuss what R&D does for their game and equipment. Happy Holidays to you Abby and everyone at Titleist. Keep doing what you do!!

I actually would like to see behind the scenes type of stuff. pretty cool to see what goes into what we play.

  23. Jim S

I would like to see more behind the scenes content. It is good to see what goes into making the best products in golf. Keep being number one. Looking for a great 2016.

I love testing the new golf balls every year, this years new ball is best I have ever played. Long off the tee and great around the green, I recommend this ball to everyone!!

Hi Abby, Great question. I've been working at a course for 20 years. I have the turf part down. Its great to know what the R&D dept. are doing. Titleist isn't just the number one ball. Everything they make is. Merry Christmas!

    Play Well,

R & D is my choice. Would love to read about what Titleist is working on and what is upcoming. I think R & D is an integral part of a company that wants to keep pace and stay ahead of the competition. Reading about R & D would be interesting.

Another thing that I would love to see happen in 2016, is for customers to be able to directly contact Titleist club repair and schedule and send any clubs for repairs such as loft and lie checking/changing, re-gripping clubs etc. It would be an amazing experience I feel if one could directly place such orders with Titleist without having to go through a third party for repairs.

    Thank you!

I would love to hear my stories from members about wildlife during their rounds.

I am a big fan of fitting articles and the process pros utilize.  I have never had a fitter adjust wood club length but know that pros vary, and that their club length is growing as distance becomes more valuable with longer courses.  Should mine increase, as well?

also, why are shafts that are firm at the ends, and softer in the middle so popular with recent drivers?

Wedge grinds intrigue me, and how do pros land where they are with their clubs?  The low bounce K grind would seem to be beneficial for many players as their highest lofted wedge- should more people use it, and why not if that is not the case?

the same can be said for iron grinds  very interested in where Jordan Spieth landed aft r returning to his old irons in the FedEx playoffs, and why.

    Thank you!

  29. Abby,

What about some trivia about golf.

+ Why does a regulation golf ball have336 dimples ?

+ What is the youngest and oldest golfer to record a hole-in-one.

+ What is the longest golf hole in the world ?

+Where is the largest bunker, and how big is it.

+  Where is and what is the distance of the world's largest golf course ?

+ What are the odds of making two holes in one in one round ?

+ What is and where is the highest elevated golf course in the world  ?

+ 80 % of all golfers will never achieve a handicap of less than how much ?

+ Where does the term "birdie" come from ?

+ What is the longest drive on record ?

+ What is the longest putt on record ?

      Have Fun,

            John

I picked behind the scenes, but I suppose that R&D could also merge to have a behind the scences/R&D regular feature.  Tour features are ok, but there is usually not a whole lot of insightful information and "standard" answers.  As far as instruction, it leads to varied opinions and always more information that muddies waters rather than clarifies.

Since I majored in engineering many years ago, I am a "why" type of guy.  It always helps me understand something when I know the why behind it.  Would love to see some behind the scenes R&D as to why the clubs look like they do and why they chose certain shafts and what might be on the horizon.

  32. BR

i have voted for behind the scenes i chose this as i am a closet equipment tinkerer and always interested in how gear is made .

Although did vote for R&D, I do appreciate behind the scenes features as well.  However saying that I do believe that R&D and behind the scenes should almost be together in it's own category.  I do find that tips from the pros is at this point redundant because of youtube, although I'd like to learn more about what the pros look for in their clubs, how they're fitted, specs, etc.  It's interesting to compare what they look for in their clubs compared to the "average" golfer.

  34. Steve N

I like R & D because of my analytical nature. That being said a "behind the scenes" story always carries interest.
