Just wondering what tee box people use more the blue or white? Personally I have been hitting from the white.

We get to hung up on the long tees.
Enjoy your game and most courses should have a sign like Bethel Country Club in Bethel Maine that shows suggested tees based on your handicap.
Enjoy the game and play to your Handicap.

I totally agree with people getting too hung up on what tees to play. I am a big fan of the tee it forward because not only will it make golf more enjoyable but it also speeds up play. Now personally I play the tees that are the furthest back on most occasions but I usually try to play a golf course anywhere from 6700-7000 yards.

I personally will play from the tips unless in a large group. Some of the local events here we play the whites the first day and then are flighted with the championship flight moving back to the tips. Usually leads to higher 2nd round scoring.

I'm not concerned with the color tees I play from, I look at the yardages. I've played courses where the whites are 6400 and I've played courses where the blue tees are 6000. Since I play lots of different courses during the year, I pick the yardage I'm comfortable with and that will also challenge me.

I'll play from the blue's until I loose enough distance to make it less fun or if I am holding up play because of ego.

Absolutely right, too many people let their ego decide which tee. I work at a muni and I see golfers on the wrong tee everyday. If pace of play is such an issue, playing the tees that match your skill level would help ease this. So leave your ego in the car, move up a tee and leave yourself something besides a 3W for the second shot!!

At my course, I play the white tees (5800yds) in the winter and when it's wet. I generally play the blues (6300yds) the other 3 seasons. I haven't played the tips (gold 6800) yet in the year I've been a member.

When I play a new course, I'll generally play the whites unless I am with others playing other tees.

I recently saw the PGA recommended 18 hole yardages based on your driving distance. I hit it about 200 yds with my driver. The recommended 18 hole distance for me is 5200-5400 yds, which is what I play. You shouldn't have to be playing fairway woods on every 2nd shot

Whites for me. Reds are for the ladies, Gold for the seniors, Whites and Blues are the tips.

6000-6200 yards and no more than 1 par3 180 or longer. Generally the whites. It's more fun to be able to have a chance at GIR with your best ball striking.

I play the blues at the course I play with my friends. Blues are 6800 and whites are 6350. Usually somewhere in between those numbers is ideal, but I know the course and have played it enough times that the blues are no problem. In my opinion it is best to play tees that fit your game rather than playing tees of a certain color because all courses are different.

Tee color varies around here som courses the tips are blue others black or gold. I usually play one box in front of the tips unless the course is very short.

Tournament rounds from the Blue's and casual rounds from the white's. Where you live makes a difference. The ball carries more the higher the altitude. I carry my driver 210 at sea level.

Every year our club has a red, white and blue tournament. It is a two man scramble. Everyone starts from the whites. You make par, you stay at the whites. You make birdy, you go back to the blues. You make bogey, you go to the reds. It is fun and the strategy changes from hole to hole. Look forward to it every year.

I'm not a bomber, so I usually try to keep the yardages under 6400. Most of the time, this means I'm playing the whites.

I normally hit from the blues with my regular foursome but if I join another group, when I go out on my own, I play whatever tees they want to play on!
