Hello everyone! I am proud to say that I am a new member of Team Titleist. I have recently jumped ship and I could not be more enthused to be a new member.
I have been playing golf for close to five years now. My first couple years I jumped around with a few different brands, TM, swoosh, etc. My first experience with Titleist was when I became good enough to not loose half a dozen of balls a round. Starting out I would find a Pro V1 here and there on the golf course and really liked the hitting the ball into greens but couldn't justify spending the money just to throw two away on the first tee. Once I had gotten this out of my game I began to buy and only play the Pro V1x. I continued to play other brands when it came to clubs.
Last year at the beginning of the season a friend of mine offered me a great deal on his set of Titleist AP1 Irons. The value was too good to pass. I practiced with them for a little bit and was really liking the improvements that I was seeing. With liking these changes and only having a 56* TM wedge, mid-way through the season I decided to go and buy three wedges. I got myself a set of Vokey wedges, a 52*, 56*, and 60*. I began hitting shots into and around greens I had never been able to even consider before. My love for the brand was beginning to really grow.
This year I joined a Fairways and Greens practice facility in my area. At the beginning of the season, playing in a scramble tournament I negotiated a deal with a friend of mine and purchased his Scotty Cameron Select Newport 1.5 Blade Putter. I was still playing a TM driver, fairway wood, and a hybrid. A month ago I played in my first ever individual tournament. Playing my own ball, playing it down, etc. I played well and placed 2nd in my flight. I was analyzing my performance over the two days after the tournament. What I found was that my penalty stokes or shots that left me in a bad position always came off of the tee or long shots into greens with fairway woods. It seemed there was one answer.... I wasn't playing Titleist. My Iron and wedge play were great. I only had one three putt both days. Everything about my game was strong with my Titleist clubs. I decided to demo a Titleist 715D2 Driver. I took it out on one of my home courses (36 hole facility). This course is long and tight with trouble everywhere. It is crucial to put yourself in good positions off of the tee to have a chance to score well. I hit more fairways and shot a better number that day than any other time I've played the course! I bought it!
Over the past few years my game has been improving but I started to hit some plateaus. The Titleist equipment I have acquired has propelled my game to a new level. Now I await the arrival of my Titleist fairway wood and hybrid. Soon after I will be getting myself a Titleist Mid-Size Staff Bag and I will be a full Titleist only brand user! I am still working towards my first even par or under par round. I am close! I have shot 71/+1 on one of my two home courses!
As I said before, I could not be more enthused to be a member of Team Titleist! I look forward to being a part of the community.
