  1. Hey Team! I'm going to my local shop for a fitting of the new 917 driver. I'm excited to say the least. I know everybody is different when it comes to their equipment but I was wondering if some of you would share what setups you have already. I like to hear your opinions on what has worked for you in the past and if you have been recently fit what has worked better now. Why do you think the combo that you chose was the best? As always, thank you for your responses.

I have a 913D3 in my bag right now, 44 inches, Diamana white stiff shaft. I usually keep it on the A1 setting. The shorter shaft allows me to have a little more control of the ball.

The key factors that I like to check off my list are: Correct Length of Shaft for my height, Lie, Loft, Swingweight as specified by Titleist and the Fitter and the effect of Grip choice (different grips affect swingweight by as much as 2 points).

I was fit into a blue board Diamana reg. flex in the 915 D2. When the new 917 came out I was fit into a stiff flex Fujikura speeder pro 64 TS. I gained 4 MPH and gained 20 yards. Point is be sure to get a good fitter. My first was a retail store second was at a Titleist Thursday event, Big Difference!

Titleist Thursdays are coming up soon. Take advantage of them and go see one of their fitters and will get you the right shaft and head combination. They are the pros.

I played my first two rounds of the year this past weekend with my 917D2. I am really looking forward to putting it into play as the weather improves. I live in the Midwest and we had a bonus weekend of great weather. Mid 60° and sunny-:)

I love my 915 D2 9.5 degree driver, stiff flex, A1 setting. I'm hitting it solid! It's cut down 1" on the shaft for more control. I also got fitted for the 917 D2, but I didn't gain that much difference to warrant an upgrade just yet and spend the $500 on a new driver. I would actually like to try other shafts on my current driver though just for fun and to see if I gain more yards.

    I am just jealous!
  9. I was for it for a 917D3 8.5* with the 16 gram draw weight set to C1. X-stiff Diamana White cut down .5". The biggest difference for me has been forgiveness and consistency when compared to previous off the shelf driver. My previous shot was high that would drop like a rock out of the sky or the good ole fade slice. The custom fit has eliminated the high spinny shot and has allowed my slice has since turned into a nice long fade that has the same distance as when I draw the ball. If only the fitter could tell my wife that I need new Titleist irons to go with the driver and fairway.....
