TITLEIST THE TOP CHOICE AT THE 2009 U.S. JUNIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS

U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Trophy

As the country's top junior amateurs competed for the national championship, 126 players, or 81 percent of the field, made Titleist their overwhelming #1 golf ball choice, compared to just 17 players for the nearest competitor.  The 15-year old winner, who was also medalist, relied upon the Pro V1x golf and 14 Titleist golf clubs in a 4 and 3 victory. His bag included the 909D2 driver (9.5), 909F2 (15.5) 3-wood, 909H hybrid (19.0), AP2 irons (3-P), Vokey Design sand (52) wedge, Spin Milled lob (60) wedge and Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 T 10 putter.

The runner-up played the Pro V1x, Titleist 975F 3-wood (13.5), Titleist ZB irons (3-P), Vokey Design Spin Milled sand (54) and lob (58) wedges and a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 putter.

On the girl's side, 126 players (also 81% of the field) made Titleist their #1 golf ball choice, compared to just 10 players for the nearest competitor. The winner relied upon the Pro V1 golf ball en route to a 6 and 5 victory over the Pro V1x-playing runner-up.

The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and U.S. Girl's Amateur Championship continue the golf ball momentum Titleist has enjoyed on the 2009 PGA Tour and across all of the worldwide professional tours, the PGA Professional National Championship, and at every level of competitive amateur golf.

At the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, Titleist was the tee-to-green favorite among more players across every major golf club category, including drivers, fairway metals, utility metals, iron sets, wedges and putters. Below are the Titleist equipment counts and percentage of players versus the nearest competitor at the 2009 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship:

Titleist also swept the golf club equipment counts, as the most-played brand in the driver (64), fairway metal (73), hybrid (44), iron (60), wedge (217) and putter (82) categories.
