PGA Tour Pro Charles Warren Demonstrates a Total Body Warmup Routine on the Next Episode of “Golf Fitness Academy Presented by Titleist”
Fairhaven, MA (June 5, 2007) – On the next all new episode of Golf Fitness Academy, co-hosts Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips are joined by PGA Tour professional Charles Warren and Randy Myers, Director of Fitness at the Sea Island Resort. Together the group demonstrates a total body warmup routine to target the key muscles in the golf swing and prepare golfers before they head out on the course.
Charles, currently ranked among the top 20 players in driving distance, explains how he’s able to generate so much speed and power through a three step stretching and flexibility routine. Following shoulder surgery in 2001, Charles worked with his trainers and instructors to develop a more standardized warmup program, integrating fitness and golf preparation exercises to continue rehabilitation of his shoulder while maximizing performance and trying to limit other injuries. The episode begins with an Upper and Lower Body Warmup featuring dynamic stretches to target major muscles used in the golf swing, followed by Stretching Drills and, finally, Tubing Drills which focus mostly on flexibility as you get ready to hit the practice range.
Episode 8: Charles Warren airs Wednesday, June 6, at 10:30 p.m. EDT. It will re-air June 7 at 2 a.m., June 17 at 2:00 p.m., June 18 at 6:30 p.m., and June 19 at 5:30 a.m.
