My buddie Howard said "I think you made it." He is still the smallest player to ever play in the NFL (returning punts - Colts & Saints in the 70s), and he's shorter than me and I'm 5'7". I surely thought it must've kept rolling and was long on the back of the green where we couldn't see it. It looked that way to me, and it wasn't even a nice looking shot. The green is uphill, and I did see it sorta disappear from sight. It was headed at the pin though, so I said "hey maybe I'll make birdie - that'll be a good chance at a skin." We got to the green and there was no ball near the hole - just the three other player's balls that were on the front and short. He looked at them checking, while I checked around the back of the green. Howard laughed and said "you made it". So I approached the hole cautiously and slowly peeking over the lip.....There my Titleist 2 was! I'm 63 years old, and even though I'm a low handicapper, I just figured I'll never get a Hole-In-One. Great day!
