Closest to the Pin Ace

Closest to the Pin Ace

It was our Spring 2017 company golf tournament scramble. On our starting hole for the tournament (Hole #11 - 167 yards), also the Closest to the Pin contest hole, I pulled out my 6-iron and was first to walk to the tee box. One teamate stated, "set the tone". I dropped my Titleist Velocity on the ground and took my stance. From ball contact, I immediately knew it was on target. One hop and the ball disappeared. At first, there was a moment of silence and disbelief. We couldn't see the hole itself, as the green sloped away. One teamate mumbled, "that may have gone in" and the other said "nah, I think it bounced over the green". I didn't comment at the time, but I knew. After waiting on my two teamates to take their shot, which felt like an hour, I floored the pedal on the golf cart, raced to the green, and hopped out of the cart before it even came to a complete stop. I sprinted to the flag and sure enough...ACE!
