On a perfect fall day for golf I found myself at a course my partner, Chuck, and I had never played. We decided to visit Arrowhead on a recommendation from guys Chuck works with. "Man, you have to play it, the course is in great shape and the pro is a heck of a nice guy." So, we made the hour and fifteen minute drive. After a slow start we stepped onto the 4th tee box, checked the GPS rangefinder and grabbed our weapons to attack the pin standing 183 yards from our spot. I grabbed a 6 iron thinking I'd hit it into the first tier and run the ball up to the hole sitting on top. The ball flew as planned, touched down on the front of the green then rolled toward the hole. "DID THAT GO IN??" "DID IT?" We looked at the green from each side of the tee box to make sure the ball wasn't hiding behind the pin and then, high 5's, hugs and yelling. It had, in fact, gone in for my first hole in one.
