Great Start to the Year

Great Start to the Year

Still shaking off the cobwebs from NYE festivities, my buddy and I decided to brave the elements. It was blowing snow and the temperatures were in the 20's, but the golf bug had made a permanent residence in our bodies. We each had a respectable first 9, given the elements, and came to the 10th pretty frozen and debating on whether to continue the madness. The wind picked up and was pretty strong left to right. The pin was tucked in the back right of the green so I decided to leave it out to the left and let the wind take it. The wind took it alright; it landed on the green, short, but the greens were frozen and the Titleist shot forward like it was expelled from a cannon. We watched as it bounded towards the hole and stood frozen in time, much like the greens. When the ball disappeared into the cup we both leapt into the air and attempted a high five, but with all the winter gear on it ended up more like an awkward body bump! Well, of course, after that, we had to continue our round, but buying beverages for everyone wasn't too costly given hardly anyone was playing that day! GM
