A Winter Round With My Family

A Winter Round With My Family

A good friend asked me and my 9 year old son to play on a chilly afternoon in November. We declined as it was cold and we had a Michigan football game to watch at home. A little time passed (and we weren't going to win this particular game) so we changed our mind, grabbed my wife and the three of us set out to play a quick round. On the 4th hole, I teed up an 8-iron and noticed that both my wife and son were watching the game on their phones. I shouted to them that they oughta pay attention because I was holing this shot. I struck it well, probably a yard left of the hole and I think a little gust of wind blew it back to the right. Jarred it. We were all speechless. I sent a text to my friend who I was supposed to play with, and minutes later he was out on the course with a beer and a hug. Pretty cool to make a hole in one - period. But wayyy better to share it with my family. We will never forget it.
