When I reached the good age of 68, 7 years ago, I was playing by myself , as I often did. On the 17th hole, a rather short (146 yds) par 3, I hit a nice shot onto the green and watched it role back toward the pin, then out of view (green tilted a little back and down about half-way back. I approached the green, did not see my ball, and frustratedly walked toward the two traps on the closest side by the pin, Did not see it

in the first, went to the second and didn't see it. I looked around behind the green, then it hit me! Maybe....I then walked to the hole and could not believe my eyes! There it was, smiliong back up from inside the hole! As happy as I was, I thought that's the worst fate a golfer could have happen...a hole -in-one and no witness! When talking about it later I told my buddies if I was going to "exaggerate" I surely woul;d not played for 40 plus years before doings so! Fortunately, couple years ago I got another one, this one with several witnesses. lol
