I was playing Ruby Hill Golf Club and on hole 17 hit my ball. Felt like a nice shot but I couldn't see the ball it was a very high trajectory hit. I was thinking it must be in the bunker so I headed for the green. What a shock, it was in the hole.

I have been playing golf since I was 15 years old and on March 6, 2015 I got my first hole in one at Duran Golf Club In Melbourne Florida on the 4th hole, a 146 yard par 3 with a 7 iron. The weight is off my shoulder now and can't wait till the next one.

Hard to believe I finally got my first hole-in-one? I've played golf seriously for 35 years and first learned the game when I was 12. That's a long time. In any case, I joined in a 'skins game' on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday.We had a shotgun start so we started on hole number 7. The fifth hole we played was number 11 of this 9 hole course which has 2 sets of tees. It was early morning, a slight breeze and the air was cool. Hole #11 (#3 for the front nine) is uphill was 133 yards that day. I used a 6 iron instead of my usual 7 for that yardage. I knew I hit a good shot, but after I saw it land, I couldn't tell where it ended up. My friend who's much taller with better eyesight said it disappeared - maybe it went in he said. I was very skeptical. Those shots always end up rolling past the hole. We went up to the green. I started to pull out my putter. My friend said, I don't think you'll need that. He walked up to the hole and there it was, my titleist ball sitting in the top of the hole between the flag and the inside of the cup. I still can't believe I finally did it?! Of course, I won a skin too!
