What's in the Bag: Zach Johnson and Ryuji Imada

Posted: May 22, 2007

After he won the Masters Tournament in early April, we ran a listing of the Titleist equipment in Zach Johnson's bag. To commemorate his victory over the weekend at the AT&T Classic in Atlanta, we've posted that listing again. What are the flexes in their shafts? X100 or S400 ?

Odle

Is Ryuji's PT 906F2 YS-6+ X flex or tipped? Seems like he prefers a different feel compared to his driver.

I have always had it in my head that the 3-wood shaft should be a little heavier than that in the driver. Obviously, that is not the case with Mr. Imada. Would you have time to discuss the thinking behind his shaft selection? Perhaps he likes a little more launch in the 3 wood?

Good to see the 503.H still getting some Tour play. I love mine, it's my go to club. Does Titleist have any plans to update the 503.H or come out with a new "iron like" hybrid to complement the 585.H? Thanks.

Both players use X flex shafts in their irons, Zach's are soft stepped. For more on this, please read the comments <a href="titleistblog.com/.../whats-in-zach-johnsons-bag rel="nofollow">here.

Ryuji's PT 906F2 has an X flex YS-6+ shaft, no tipping.

We're glad that you're getting some good use out of your 503.H utility iron. For competitive purposes, our policy is not to discuss products that may or may not be in development.

What shaft is Tommy Armour III currently playing in his driver? Also, is he using Vokey Design wedges? Any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

Odle

Tommy had a Mitsubishi Diamana 73 in his 907D4 prototype driver at last week's AT&T Classic. He did not have any Vokey Design wedges in his bag for that event.

Do the headweights and swingweights of the steel shafted (DG S300) standard consumer PT 906F2 differ from the graphite models? How about for the steel shafted PT 585.H versus the graphite models? What are the standard swingweights, specifically for the PT 906F2 15° and PT 585.H 19°, both in DG S300? Thank you.
