From the 2009 Buick Open – Wednesday

Posted: July 29, 2009

If today's pro-am is any indication of this week's success, count Titleist Brand Ambassador Brad Faxon among the favorites. As we mentioned in yesterday's blog note, Brad put the New AP2s in the bag at Milwaukee and posted his best finish of the year. Today, he fired a 4-under 68 on his own ball, which included long birdie putts on Nos. 9 and 18. The team, which also consisted of Detroit Red Wings forwards Kirk Maltby and Dan Cleary, finished at 14-under 58.

Be sure to check out Wednesday's image gallery, which includes more shots of players testing equipment on the practice tee.

I really like the look of the new blades but I need to know one thing. Are they going to be offered for us lefties?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Robert Sellman

I was wondering what changes were made by Titleist to the old AP2 model that appealed to Faxon?

When are you gonna put up pics and specs of all the new iron releases... they all look great, btw.

Pics of the new irons look great...are any new staff bags in the works?

Robert Sellman

Yes, LH models will be available for all four of the new irons.

No new staff bag designs are currently planned.

Changes to the new AP2 have improved the feel, shot control, and turf interaction of the irons.

Complete product pages for all of the new irons, include features and specifications, will be added to early this fall.

Many thanks to Titleist for the strong left handed product offerings.  While others act like they are interested in the left handed player, Titleist demonstrates it!

I really like your AP line of irons and have been contemplating buying a set of the AP2s.  Is the purpose of the TPU insert ("legs") to enhance the feel of the club and provide a less muted feel compared to the current AP2s?  Could you describe the difference in feel?

How was "improved shot control" accomplished with the new design?

Many thanks!
