    Hi everyone,

I am very much a beginner and have only just this year started play regularly to try and improve my game and am looking for a new wedge as i am using a old second hand one and feel it may help my game to get a new one. So the one i have my eye on is a vokey one but don't know it is worth my time and money?

    Please help

Great question Darren. For me personally, I think playing with the best equipment (and just as importantly, properly fit equipment) is essential to improving your game. If your clubs do not suit your game, you are at a disadvantage. I have looked at and hit a lot of different wedges and I never have strayed from my Vokey wedges and they fit and perform best for me. I know when I have my Vokey 60M in my hand I can feel confident that I can get up and down from anywhere. I would encourage you to go demo some of the wedges and see how they work in comparison to what you are currently using. As for being worth the money, absolutely. The shots you can execute with my Vokeys makes them priceless!

Thanks for the advice, it has really helped. I'll have to keep my eye out out a demo day.

    Thank you for your help.

Is the sky blue?  No doubt Vokey is the way to go, no matter your skill or experience level.  They are the best by far when it comes to wedges, as your skills progress then you can really get into grinds and bounce, but Vokey's are the best period.

I can tell you from experience that you can either buy a Vokey wedge now and enjoy it or you can try a bunch of other wedges and then buy a Vokey.  Save yourself the cost and aggravation by just starting with a properly fit Vokey from the start.

I learned that lesson the hard way-  cleve wedges, then cally, then Staff and finally the Vokeys about 6-7 years ago and have stayed with them since then.

Note that Vokey has a large matrix of lofts and grinds. If you are working with someone for bunker shots/pitching/chipping, they can help you with how you use wedges to decide where you should start (PW/GW/SW/LW)to fill in. Learning to use the correct wedge is a world of difference from buying one off the rack. I had a set I bought on my own, which was good since I only has a PW when I did, but the ones I got fitted for 4 years later have dramatically improved my short game. That's when the real advantage of Vokey's is evident. No one else can fit you as well as the Vokey line.
  9. Just supporting what everybody else is saying... you can never go wrong with a vokey. I would strongly recommend that you go see a fitter. The myriad of loft, bounce and grind options can sometimes be overwhelming. Best of luck!

I've been playing 20+ years and I only wish I had started with Vokey 20+ years ago...

I think you know my answer :)

Absolutely Vokey wedges are the way to go.  I have used Vokey wedges for the past several years and the first time I used it, I was hooked.  I even replaced my PW for a Vokey.  Wish Vokey's came in a complete set of irons too.  Out of all my clubs, the Vokey wedges are by far my favorite.  Hope this helps.

I've been using Vokey's for at least 10 years now and wouldn't think of any other wedge. I agree with many of the posters to try a few different wedges and talk to your local pro about the lofts, bounce, etc. You want to make sure that you get the best wedge while ensuring that you don't end up with gaps.
