Longtime vokey user, used to play 60.04 now using S grind in 55* and 60*. At times the S grind 60* bounces on tight firm lies unless I try to stay steep and aggressive; when near green. M grind digs a bit on me in the sand. Any grind recommendations that have bounce for sand but less effective bounce around the greens when opening blade up??

Low-bounce K Grind. Awesome from the sand. Available through Vokey Wedgeworks.

I might also wait to see what the new SM7s might have to offer.

I had trouble with this as well and am waiting for the SM7s to come out to see what changes there are...

But, my current wedge in a 60.08 M bent to a 58.06 and have found that it reacts with the turf much better than before. My 54-55 is a 54.08 M

If specs stay the same, then my other thoughts to try have been:

    60.04 L
    60.06 K (Custom Wedgeworks)
    62.08 M bent to a 60.06 M

I'd love to hear what you end up doing and your results!

16 of them on ebay for double the price.

    Dumb.
  5. Why not go back to the L grind? They still make it.

I’ve played around with almost all of the grinds over the years, and they have made small tweaks in between the versions, so I’m not sure which one you’re gaming. You could always get a 58 L grind and have it opened up 2 degrees; would get you to 60 degrees and a bit more bounce for sand but still have the heel and trailing edge grind that allows for open faced shots on firm turf.

My current setup for Vokeys is 50-08 bent to 49* and 60-12K bent to 57*. The 60-12K as bent works on a wide variety of lies; I can hit it off hard pan, grassy lies, firm sand and soft sand and it plays like an old school sand wedge. I use the 50-08 as a PW. My "9 iron" is an RM21 42*.

58-12K bent to 56 is good.

52-08 bent to 50 is good also.

I also have a 64* wedge (Mack Daddy) that is perfect for hard sand and hard pan and can still hit out of soft sand.

For some odd reason, 60-04 L grind seems to be harder to hit off a tight lie vs a 62-08M. I've tried a 60-08M bent to 58 and it seems to work OK but the K grind bent as I described works better.
