I'm getting ready to order new wedges but can't find comparison data on the finishes. For example, which is more durable? Tour Chrome? Which is harder? Softer?

  2. I just ordered the chrome because they look better in the bag with the AP2's.
  3. First off, they all look awesome! Without a doubt though, tour chrome is the most durable. I had an sm6 56 in steel gray which I loved. It looked great especially as it wore and held up really well. I went to buy the SM7 in brushed Steel but after seeing them in the rack and how banged up some looked I decided to go back to tour chrome. Plus it matches my 52! Love the stealth black but from what I hear that one gets pretty marked up which I know some guys like but it would drive me crazy! I don't think any one is softer than another.

I prefer the Jet Black finish. Not having the glare off the clubface on sunny day (if we ever get any this spring!) is the reason I always get this finish.

tour chrome is the most durable. the jet black will show marks and the raw will rust over time as well so if you're looking for durability go with the tour chrome for sure

Black finish wears really quickly. My son bought one, played two rounds and the bottom and face in the hitting area is almost silver already.

I was fortunate to be invited to a Vokey Wedge experience and when being asked which finish I preferred I thought the brushed steel looked cheap and the ones that had already been used looked rough. The black was a matt finish and would rust in time and again the ones they had were badly marked I went for the tour chrome as they had the look of durability and the used ones still looked pretty good plus they looked great next to my 716 AP 2's.
  8. I went with the durable chrome for my three wedge set. I have not been disappointed.
  9. I have one of each finish in the bag. After about 6 rounds, the Tour Chrome still looks brand new, while Jet Black and Brushed Steel are showing a little “character.” I don’t mind the looks of a well worn wedge - they are like trusty tools. Dont bet against a player with well worn Vokeys!
