  1. I've been looking for a pre-owned, lefthand, mallet-type Scotty in 33 inch length, but haven't had much luck. Would a cut-down 34 inch with 20 gram weights be the identical putter, or is there some other differences between the clubs?

  2. You would be okay cutting a 34” down as it is tough to come across a 33”. The only thing that would change on the putter, as you mentioned, is the weight and balance. Taking an inch off the shaft however would not be a significant amount and I doubt you would really feel it. I’m sure if you wanted to make sure you were doing it right, the SC custom shop could take care of it for you!

Heads are all the same. If you cut it down and add the 20 gram weights it’ll be just like a stock 33” putter. Make sure you get the weights to fit the putter you want. There are different size weights based on the putter heads.

Good Luck, I looked for a year and gave up. I found a new one on the internet cheap and price matched it at a local golf shop.

You can always buy some lead tape to add and subtract weight until you find out what feel right to you then buy the corresponding weights.

There are 4-5 retailers with an online presence for "gently tested" clubs that will warranty authenticity. It may take time, but these do appear. This won't work for everyone, but I'm ambidextrous and finally moved to a (33") RH putter (still LH clubs). Even looking beyond Cameron, the options are either limited or can only be special ordered. Just added a Newport Select as it is enough of a mallet and the slight toe hang fits my stroke. It's just not a LH option. I do have a 34" Newport 2 (LH) that I got because the 33's were hard to find. Wasn't successful trying to choke down and adjust the weights.
  7. tz, fyi there are several listings on ebay right now for golo5, and 6m, both mallet type putters. they are also offering free customization to length weight etc.
they are 34" with 15g weights, so if you want it cut to 33", order with 20g weights.
