My ball fitting

    Today, I participated in a Titleist ball fitting at Salem Glen Country Club, Clemmons, NC. I was fit into either ProV1or NXT Tour. My fitter, Grace, was very personable and proffesional, and gave me a lot of good infomation about the golf balls. Thanks.

    Hi Rich, I would love to know some specifics of the fitting. What were the shots you hit, did you notice differences between balls, did the recommendations differ from your usual gamer?  I'm just curious if it's possible to do your own testing after knowing the proper process. I have often wondered whether or not I'm using the best ball, though it's highly unlikely that I would stop using my beloved Pro V1. Unless it was suggested I switch to the Pro V1x...,or may be the new "Test" ball , that's really nice too.

    Steve, I hit some 50 yard shots with my sand wedge, full shot with my 7 iron, and some shots with my driver. Grace thought I would benefit from a bit more spin with my sw, so she recommended the ProV1. I told her I like to play low shots with a bit of run arond the greens, so she recommended the NXT Tour as an alternative. She said all Titleist balls were within 4 yards of each other in driver distance, so both would be a good fit off the tee. I am not sure she told me anything I didn't already know, but she did reinforce the reasons I really like both of these balls. There were three other fitters there, and I chatted with all of them. They were all very friendly and helpful. All the Titleist reps I have met have left me with good thoughts about the company.

    Rick thanks for the info.  I see the statement that the two balls are only 4 yards apart with the drive.  Did she say the ProV and ProVX were 4 yards apart with the driver as well?

    If you are talking about Grace S. from the Boston area, she really knows what she is talking about. I met here last winter in Florida and she suggested an appropriate Titleist Ball for me. All the people I have met from Titleist are knowledgeable and respectful. I volunteered to test shoes in their design center in Brockton MA and it turned out to be a great experience. Larry F.

    The good Staff at Titleist should receive a customer service award. Their Staff is friendly. Knowledgeable. Caring.

    Was one recommended over the other? Whichever one it is, it's best to stick with it so that your results are consistent.
