Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows if the pros are using those new prototype balls during tournaments and if they are allowed to. It would be cool if Titleist put up videos of the Titleist players using the ball and giving good feedback.  Good luck Titleist.

    Hi Devin,

Thanks for the post. One quick clarification, the test golf balls that were sent to Team Titleist members are part of our ongoing golf ball R&D process and were just test golf balls.  As you can imagine, we are constantly developing prototype golf balls and through the evaluation process we review the feedback we receive to continue along the R&D path.

In terms of tournament use with the test golf balls that Team Titleist members received, while these prototype golf balls stamped "Test" are USGA conforming, they have not been submitted to the USGA for listing on the Conforming Ball List.  Because they do not appear on the Conforming Ball List, please do not not use these prototypes in any tournament play,

Here is the link to Rule 5 on USGA which also talks about the Condition of Competition rulings for tournaments and the List of Conforming golf balls: http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Rules-on-Clubs-and-Balls/Rule-5-%E2%80%93-The-Golf-Ball/

As for pros that have been playing the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototype golf balls, you can check out these posts for some of the initial feedback we've been hearing out on Tour during the Fall Series:

    I hope this helps!
