Golf Ball Art - allowing others to draw on ball

    Do you allow significant others/children to draw/mark some of your golf balls if they want to?

    So, I was sitting watching tv while also taking the time to mark some of my golf balls. My gf wanted to join in, and mark some for me! I was a little hesitant at first, but after seeing some of her work, have given her free reigns whenever she likes. It's never a full dozen, as they take a little more time/effort than just a line or dot(s). So I'll end up with maybe 3/4 out of a dozen with her drawings, and have grown to like them (happy wife... happy life)! She plays too.

    Are you guys sticklers on this topic? Will you NOT allow someone to have fun with even one of your golf balls? Too shy to pull out a ball w/ a different marking on it? Yes, for recreational play, obviously if you're in competition... whatever to play your best overrules.

    Just thought I'd share the wealth w/ some pics. No serious debaters, just some fun/creativity that never hurt anybody. Cheers!

    Why not! It serves as a reminder that this is just a game and at the end of day regardless of your outcomes you still have people that love you...

    I like the marks on your golf balls but for me, I like to stay to my golf routines and mark my own!!

    the subsequent marks on the club face would sent my golf club OCD into a flat spin!! I like the bee and flower design though!

    Absolutely love it. My markings started in a similar fashion. A new dozen came home and the kids found the sharpies. They colored every dot, red, blue or green to match my SC head cover.....if they found a yellow sharpie, I'm sure it would have made its way on there too.
    We ended up dialing it back a bit and stuck with a pattern of a "red" dot on the right of the 1, a "blue" dot below the 1, and finally a "green" dot to the left of the dot, forming a triangle around the "1", signifying the center of the cup.

    Easy to remember as well
    Red - right
    Blue - bottom
    Green - left

    Hats off to you girlfriend. Those markings are great and very unique. Almost too good to tee up, but I have to agree with Richbow9. The marks on my clubface or smudged sharpie on the ball itself would drive me crazy. I often experience this with my current marking. With that said, when my son is old enough to show interest in the game I'll certainly let him help mark if he wants to.

    Do whatever you want with your golf balls, they're yours. I especially like to see when kids get involved; their creativity amazes me.

    They are cute and can appreciate them, but not for me. The less markings on my ball the better. Normally a "Z" or three dots and that is it. Prefer to see the Titleist script when putting or teeing up a ball. You know, choices.

    My wife can not play due to medical issues. She was inspired from the 12 days of Titleist Christmas golf balls. Since then she draws on my golf balls a lot. When I play with them I feel her presence.
