  1. I am sure it has been discussed already. I just can't locate it on here. But, I was wondering if someone could answer, what is the difference between the old and the new ProV1x and the old ProV1x? Am I really noticing a difference in play or or am I just tripping? I heard the new ProV1 is the same as the old ProV1x. True or false? If true i should be playing the new ProV1 instead of the ProV1x

Hopefully someone can help me out

    Thanks

It has been years since I played the Prov1x but I feel the new Prov1 is longer than the previous years Prov1 and the feedback has been that the new Prov1 is longer that the Prov1x, but I cannot vouch for that from personal use. If you research a little you will find posts on here regarding the results of the tests, which started in the fall of 2016.

I've been playing Pro V1X for the last few years. But I got to play the new Pro V1 Test balls last year. I definitely noticed the reduced spin off the Driver. Never hit so many fairways in my life, and it felt great with no loss of distance, but it's a slightly lower trajectory. Still prefer the higher flight of the X with irons into the green.

I feel the same. I'm going to test each ball side by side. As soon as I can get some Prov1's and the weather cooperates.

Both balls have been updated for 2017. The X has a higher launch and a firmer feel. The V has a more penetrating flight and a more gradual descent. I switched to the V as I was getting as good as distance as with the 2015 X and I like the softer feel around the greens. The V even has a little less spin off the tee. That was a hallmark of the X over the V for a long time. Which one you use should be based on trying a sleeve of both - there will be many on both sides. However, while the roles appear to have switched, the new V is the new V - it is not the old X.
  6. Thanks guys.
I have heard people switching form the old X to the new V and visa versa
I guess i will have to try the new V and trial and error it

    Thanks again

I have played the V1 for a long time and now have a sleeve of the 2017 V1 and V1x that I am anxious to get out and hit. Unfortunately due to the minus stupid *C temperature outside today, I am putting with them in my basement and I am liking what I see/feel. Really need to get these out on the course, spring can't get here soon enough!

I'm really struggling to pick a ball on this one, I have been a long time X user and like the new X but the lower spin long irons and slightly lower flight of the V1 should be very good for my game, anyone made the switch yet? Mitch any idea of any PGA tour players that played X last year that are now int he V1?
