I enjoyed playing with the test balls. I play proV1's and they matched up well. I think they are a go! Thanks TITLEST for the opportunity to test these new balls. They are awesome.

I would love to try them as well..I play the prov x and I've heard the new balls compare to those. How do we get to test them?

I have been hearing great things about these new test balls and would like to give them a try as well if it's not too late.

I’ve only played with one of them and hit lots of different shots.  They feel soft, really soft.  Putting and chipping they almost feel like an old balata ball.  I really like the way it rolled with the putter.  Long irons and driver again excellent feel and the same distance as a current ProV1, but with a better more boring trajectory.  The cover is softer, which for the new groove rule is probably better but with my square grooved wedges I just chew them up.  My first solid wedge shot put those groove lines in the ball.  Reminds me of the current difference between the ProV1 and the ProV1x.  I can cut up the current ProV1x about the same which is why I switched to the ProV1.

Even with the softer cover, I’d say it spins a little less than the current ProV1…I really mean just a little.  With a 7 iron uphill on #15 at Eaglemont I hit two 7 irons.  The ProV1 hit and hopped or spun back about a foot.  The test ball hit and rolled forward about 18 inches.  Could it be a soft spot on the green versus a firmer spot?  Could it be the more boring versus higher trajectory?  Maybe. Except that my impression on chipping and pitching with it is that it just spins a little less.

Those are just my first impressions.  I need to get out again and try some more shots.  I didn’t get to hit any three wood shots off the fairway.  I nailed the drive that I hit with the test ball and it was a thing of beauty to watch with the new trajectory.

I played with the TEST BALLS first thing this morning. The weather was nice at that time of the day and the Prototype Titleist Golf Balls were GREAT! They seemed to be longer and softer than the ball I usually play. I'd love to have more of the Prototype Titleist Golf Balls especially since I lost one of them today.

I thought they were a little longer also compared to the pro v1, and  they definately are softer with a little less spin.  Overall I loved the ball, I would buy a dozen in a heartbeat!
