  1. I am considering the Titleist 712 CB or 712 MB's. I need some advice on which one to choose. I know that the CB's might be a little easier to hit but I like the looks of the MB's.

    Thanx,

    get the 712 cb.

  3. Its too bad Titleist doesn't make a blended set, but I suppose you could go P-8 iron MB, and 7-3 iron CM.  The best of both worlds.  I love the 735 CM series.

Titleist irons may be custom ordered in any combination that you'd like ... if you'd like to order a mixed set of CB/MB, we can get those done.

I buillt my own mixed set.  9 to 5 in MB with the KBS c taper shaft. 3 & 4 in CB with same shaft.  I went for a 46 vokey SM4 over the MB PW as I like the feel a little better.  I could not be happier with the set.  The MB' s are more workable for attacking the greens from 175 to 185 in.  I love the CB feel for off the tee or going for the green from a long 2nd on a par 5.  I found the 3 in the MB a little hard to hit the centre ( however it's amazing when you do...).  A mixed set is a great idea. You just need to find your own transition point from the MB to the CB.

  6. I agree, the transition is the key, next time I may include my 7 iron as a muscle back, and CB 6-3 iron.  The blended blade/CB set is made for me.  I feel confidence in every club.

  7. i recommend the mixed set.  I have 712 CB for 4, 5, 6 and the MB for 7 - PW.  Both feel great but the CB gives that extra bit of forgiveness for longer irons you don't hit as often in a round.   The MBs are remarkably easy to hit for a blade - if you are good enough to play the CB you are good enough to hit MBs in short irons.

Scott - I played the 735CM's for years and loved them as well.  However, I moved up to the ZB's and they are even better.  Agree on the combo of the MB's and CB's, but don't count out a good used set of the ZB's.

  9.  Those ZB's are nice looking, I would like to try them out.  After having my 735's custom fit to my swing I havn't even considered anything new in quite a while.  I would have to actually play something a while and feel a difference before I moved on.
