I just went from my old 909 D Comp to 913 D2 (Diamana White 72 stiff) and love it. A little longer, but much straighter, with a tad bit of a draw :-) Anyway, I am making the switch from 775s to AP1s. My question is about shaft length. I currently choke down about 1"-1 1/2" (I wasn't fitted for the 775s) and hit them well. What changes does cutting off an inch have on a shaft? Or should I not mess with it and continue to choked down?

Cutting them an inch would change the swingweight by 6 points if you kept the same standard grip.  You can replace the standard rubber grip with something like a Golf Pride 25, Winn Lite or Winn Lite Dri-Tac to restore swing weight,   I play my irons 1/2" short and use Winn Excel RF.

Thanks Lou! Is the only thing that will change is the weight? What about the kick point and stiffness? Would they become more stiff? Also, I have the multi-compound black/red grips on everything....

Theoretically cutting the butt end of a golf club isn't supposed to change the shaft flex but it does to a small extent (personal experience with TM HT draw driver M flex that I had shortened to 44.5", 910F 19* shortened to 41" and 910H 21* shortened to 39"; I play the Titleists at their most upright lie angle).   The kick point should be at the same point relative to the clubhead because you didn't change the tip.
