  1. I'm looking to upgrade my wedge set for the first time in years. In the past when I've swung Vokey wedges they all felt entirely too heavy. Is there any newer stock models that are lightweight or is custom the only option I have if I want a lightweight Vokey? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

It would custom at any rate. The simplest choice is to have the shafts shortened 1/2" and lie angles bent upright to compensate.  Graphite would lighten one by 5 swingweight points and you could use an ultralight grip (Winn Lite) to maintain swingweight AND you would a considerably lighter club.

Hi JM,  Bob believes that having his wedges on the heavier end of swingweight helps the player with the short and touch shorts, and the standard swingweight for 46-52 is D3 and the standard swingweight for 54-64 is D5, but that is with a stock wedge flex shaft which is a DYG S200. To build a wedge that has a lighter swingweight will be a custom order,  - custom orders (as long as we have the components in stock) are only 2-3 days.
If you use one of our lightweight steel shafts, like the DYG XP, there is no upcharge to build it with that shaft and you can request the swingweight at D2 for the 46-52 and D4 for the 54-64.  You can build the wedges with lighter shafts such as the NS Pro 9750 or 950 or 850 and the swingweight will be even lighter.

While my other post is floating, I wholly concur with Cathi on the heavier swing weights.  I generally don't take full golf shots (aka square stance full swings) with wedges unless absolutely necessary.  I'm much more accurate pitching a 9 iron or PW within +/- 5 yards of where I hit a full swing with a sand wedge.

I've actually shortened a 50-08 to 35.25" and bent it to 49.  The swingweight came out around D3.  The  54-64 I have are bone stock and the feel around the greens is great.

Like I mentioned in my other post, you can have a physically lighter club but still maintain the stock swingweight.  The DG wedge flex is ~ 130g uncut and I am assuming the NS Pro 950 is 95g.  35g = approx 4 swingweight points.  A Winn Excel RF grip would make the swingweight about D3 on the SW-XW.   A Winn Lite or Golf Pride 25 grip would make the swingweight about D6 and the club would also be 65 grams lighter.  The physically lighter club may go farther but the heavier club will be more accurate and my case in point is a DIY 31* hybrid with DG R300 vs an SQ 6-30 with Diamana graphite; both have the same grip, same length and same swingweight, the latter goes 10 yards farther but I have put the ball closer to the pin with the former.
